(If it isn't in the good section, feel free to move it)

I just bought a Plastic WarpWolf kit, and I don't see why I should make him a Feral over a PureBlood or a Stalker. I see the use of the Stalker (his animus, and Berserk) and of the PureBlood (his animus, Ghostly and Spell Ward), but I don't see what in the Feral screams "Buy me!!".
He does have three attacks base, and when making throw and so on his STR is one more than the STR of the others. But I'm not sure how he could shine.

I just have the battlebox (metal, but I want to replace my metal Feral) and the plastic kit, but I plan to play eKaya, and Kromac maybe.

So. Why should I make it a Feral ?

What's to sell? It's a straightforward beater at a fair price for a heavy, and it takes well to buffing. You can even get cute messing with an opponents fury, in some situations though that's somewhat limited.

It'd solid, but I wouldn't build a second when you have the metal model. You're going to get way more use & utility out of having a second heavy beast. Especially if you pick up Kromac as him and a stalker go together like, I dunno two things that go well together.

(1) beatstick. 3 attacks base. 4 fury. mat7 base.
(2)very good versatile, and always useful warps (str, spd, arm)
(3)relatively cheap. well, he's cheaper than a stalker. and a point is always valuable.
(4)ghetorix is a character. so a feral makes a very good back-up front line fighter.

he's not the best. but he has holds his own. if you ask me, i relied on the feral for years before i got a stalker. The stalker is my go-to, for very obvious reasons, but it hasnt ever stopped mer reaching for Hairy, my feral. And to be honest, Hairy has yet to let me down in a fight.

Ferals can be great. I just got a Stalker for the first time, after relying on a Feral for pretty every beating I needed to give out with my Circle.

Mat 7 means that you usually don't need to boost, where a Stalker might have trouble hitting when you need to.

The Feral's warps are pretty much all great - nothing like a SPD 8 Warpwolf charging 11", plus Reach with pKrueger's Lightning Tendrils for a total of 13" decimation.

He's also fun if you decide to put Inviolable Resolve on him with Kromac - DEF 14, ARM 20 means opponents need to boost to hit, as well as possibly boosting to damage as well.

So, I made a Pureblood.

This may be related, or not. When I went to the my FLGS to take my WarpWolf, I was surprised by the price. 34E. That's 44USD, or 28£. I thougt it would be more like 30E (40USD or 24£). Was I misthinking, or is it a problem of currency conversion, or shipping, or else ?

It has got the option to be slightly (1/2") faster than a Stalker and cheaper he also has the option have better armour. It has got a better MAT and is cheaper. It is needed in games where models from the Battlebox are used.

I will admit I only use it in Battlebox games (he's in my current league army that requires the Battlebox warbeasts) and when I want to run three (non character) Warpwolves. If his Animus was any good he'd be worth his points outright, as it is he's over priced compared to the Stalker.

IMO it is the only Battlebox heavy warjack/warbeast that has been almost completely superseded by later better models in MKII.

Yikes that sounds pricey. What do the other heavy kits or big pieces cost for you? I know when buying online I can get that Heavy Warbeast kit for about $26 USD. Even if I go to the local brick-and-mortar retailer it winds up being about $31 after accounting for their loyalty program.

The TrollBlood plastic battlebox was 50E I think (so 45E after loyalty; so 36£ or 58$ according to xe.com)

Probably a currency conversion thing. The standard retail price as set by PP is $34.99 USD.
