Erm, what about playstation store? There are a bunch of ps1 and ps2 games you can download off that, what's to say it will be any different for the ps4?

Not to mention the fact I can just put the older disc in the current system and use them. PS3 only - try that on an x-box360 or a wii.

The only thing stopping it from working is people from trying. Or knowing enough about people that can.
Odds that people saying it won't work own a PS3?

I doubt it will go away with a hardware upgrade.

It won't work on the Wii, but the majority of Xbox games will work on the 360. I still play Republic Commando every so often.

The only annoying thing is that I cannot utilize Xbox Live and some of the controller functionality is not so great because of the controller layouts.

Im just goin to throw it out there: I have one of the few PS3s that can play PS2 discs" and the PS1/2 games for pS3 didnt show up for about a year or two after sony pulled the compatibility plug.

I use them all, and have one of the original ps3s too.

It just irks me when people spout silliness without meaning it to be silly.

Well, orbital strikes are going to be a pretty core part.

being an EVE player I want to see how I can make a lot of money from exploiting things.

If I can be some sort of saboteur, I'll be happy.

I think you're missing the point, you've basically said what I implied.

That they have most likely taken any future releases of new consoles/games into consideration and intend to upgrade and update as they go along, without leaving the existing player base behind.

Dust might be free to play, but it is going to generate cash, they hope, and they would be silly for them to just abandon a possibly large amount of the player base behind and all that wonga.

I'm just looking forward to being your bog standard grunt, getting a name for myself and selling my services to the highest bidder.

Haha! Not really. But you know that was my first thought when I first heard about a 'shooter' based on the Eve universe.... like the game would be based on just building guns, selling guns, and gathering resources to make the guns... but no shooting!
