I was wondering if anyone has a picture comparing the size of a Chaos spawn to that of a true scale marine. If not then does anyone have dimensions for one or both?
Personally I don't like the spawn models and even though there are a ton of bits they are pretty expensive. I am considering making a squad of true scale 'possessed' with lots of tentacles and claws to use as spawn.
Would this make sense? Do you think they would be about the same size?

I'm going to do this, just put them on the terminator base size and pack a healthy amount of green stuff to bulk up there backs and stab in a lot of tenticales and claws and stuff.

QFT. The only models that aren't in scale are Guardsmen, and I found the simple expedient of using a slightly 'taller' than average base makes Marines suitable taller. Every truescale project I've seen has resulted in over-sized and badly proportioned models, and requires a truly gargantuan effort.

Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?" |

Ill mostly agree. Most Truscales IVe seen either the legs are massive and stretched, or the arms/torso look out of scale big time. Though I have seen people just use Terminator legs/torsos for truscale. Looks much better IMO

I was planning on using this as a guide, but obviously more chaos.

You realize that the average person is 8 heads high right? The proportions of the Space Marine and IGuard figures produced by GW are so ridiculously off it's laughable.
It's misconceptions based on what the models have always looked like that makes the up scaled models look strange to you. Anyone who is more familiar with actual human physiology realizes how goofy the Space Marines look on the tabletop. They're virtual gorillas. Arms too long, legs too short, heads gigantic. That's just kinda part of what happens with "Heroic Scale" versus a real scaled model.
Now obviously some upscaled models are better than others, and mine aren't perfect because I've made compromises based on practicality. But to suggest that the figures issued by Games Workshop are properly proportioned and the various upscaled models look out of scale is ridiculously laughable, haha.
The biggest problem with the models using Terminator legs is that they start to look way too large next to the vehicles in the game. And that's mostly because the vehicles in the game are just way, way too small already.
