Today I heard something from a GW employee. He said that on his last trip to Memphis he happened to see the order forms purchasing plastic molds for Sisters of Battle. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

The last rumors were over a year ago, people had seen either concept art or test models.
The alleged 2013 order form has some SoB units on it but many people are saying it was a fake (though if it was it was a darn darn good one with legit-looking product numbers and codes).
Other than that...
While I may want to believe the general rule is GW staff know nothing and lie a lot.

You beat me to it! I'm surprised Mathieu was able to resist saying so, too
DreamForge really may corner this market. As GW has come to realize, they actually have a lot less protection on models they've "always intended to make" but have never done so. Mark at DreamForge's armored females are going to look nothing like GW's Sisters aesthetic, but will work for it nicely (even better than GW's) imo.
Once again, GW is letting market share slip away for no discernable reason.

Actually, the Sororitas release will be just one pot of red paint and a limited edition base decoration set
All the new Sisters will have two piece heads (top and bottom). The tops have been designed to fit atop Grey Knight helmets, so that they can wear hats.

I loled, and choked on my breakfast sausage. Thanks for that.

Sorry just to pick this up are are Dreamforge doing Sisters of Battle style models now? I have a substantial SOB collection but if they are nice will have a look.
Really hope we get a new Codex (even at the new inflated prices) this year - and lots of new models officially

I wouldn't say "SoB style" unless you define the style as "armored gun-wielding female". Many plan on swapping in female heads to their DFG stormtroopers, others are waiting on the actual female troops. They will likely lack the religious imagery and really just be power-armored females, which for some people is enough. Here's the WIP of the special character that shows the general idea:
Spoiler:
This model is armed with an Anti-Tank rifle, so don't let the gun put you off. Unfortunately this particular model is only available to the KS backers and the regular squad won't be released until mid-2013)
Back on topic, I've always liked Sisters and would love plastics, but I fear with the way GW is now buying the plastics will make the cost of the metal models seem like the good old days... :(
thanks - interesting model - I am also waiting to see what Spartan do with their 28mm ranges - some good IG options in the Victorian style range.
Agree about the plastic prices ;(

Ah, I can't let that go without posting the other excellent shots of Ada...
How is an armless shot excellent? Unless you're into that kind of thing...
Regardless of religious imagery, I think the Black Widows will make fine SoB, but the release schedule could be very iffy if the "mega-list" of releases was even remotely accurate. Because it seems that SoBs in that list were slated for around mid-2013 as well.
Personally, having only a single squad of the metal models, I don't feel like I am in too deep to scrap that and start from scratch, and I would probably favour DFG over GW if I did. I have been waiting for SoB plastics since I played my first game of W40K back in 2001.
And I think the "mega-list" might have had more truth to it than was previously assessed. I can only say it is intuition, no hard facts, but still...
Automatically Appended Next Post: You could have shown the "from behind" shot instead...

Uh, because without her gun you can see what her body looks like? Also... I did post that shot, I also referred to it as "And most importantly...", does the second shot not show for you?
If I was GW, I'd not even waste a single second on SoB. GW wants to sell stuff, they don't give a flying fu....ngus about what a super-small niche of players might want.
...and really, the generic SoB trooper's hair makes me want to throw up...
Come on, the cleopatra haircut was all the rage... back in the eighties.
Wouldn't it be the same as squatting the SoBs, though, if they never release stuff for them again? And didn't they make a commitment not to do that to any of the current armies?

Yes they did, but the WD codex allows them to kick the can down the road a few more years.
FW may well have Sisters of Silence out before we see SoB from GW...
I like the SoB haircut - and it is, I think, meant to be somewhat reminicent of the tonsure, in keeping with the SoB's identity as religious warriors like certain kinds of monk (or nuns, as it were)
I was always hoping Micropanzer would flesh out their 32mm Valkyur line up. I think he sold off the 32mm lineup though (not sure who picked it up though).
They looked to be a pretty slick counts-as SoB. Not the same feeling as GW originally went with...but the ideas are there and the concepts fairly well covered the gamut of figures in the old Codex.
Interesting Trivia: Sisters of Battle haircuts were based on Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction.
Also, all the folks mentioning the 10 years, well, we were all saying the same about Dark Eldar and Necrons until recently. I think GW's been having an epiphany about renewing it's visual ip and model ranges of late...
