what are you kitting your warboss out with and how are you using him in game?

i usually run mine in mega armor, cybork body, with an Attack squig and a boss pole. usually in a trukk with some boys and a PK, HA nob and either hope to roll the outflank perk or i rusk him forward keeping in cover or out of LOS.

In mega armor with a full squad of lootas. He sits up front tanking LOSing any AP2 shots back. The squad marches up the field blazing away.

hahaha that sounds like an awesome idea but if your doing that why have a boss and not a mek? doing the same job for cheaper.

Did I miss something? The BRB says on pg 39 the special rules of ICs are only passed to units they join when explicitly stated. Relentless says nothing to that effect.

Is there another source for mega armor + lootas?

To the OP:

I give my boss cybork, PK, Kombi-skorcha. I then put him in a trukk with 10 boyz, nob, PK. I love Kombi-skorchas!

Nob challenges anything that might threaten my boss...

Mega-armored boss + Cybork + boss pole leading a group of Meganobz pretty much owns all battles I've been with for some time (trukks and battlewagons help deliver them. I suggest trukks for the fast paced delivery system if you are smart about how to dodge enemy gunfire.

yeah i tried that once and they did pretty well but i got discouraged when a swarmlord charged them and killed the whole squad in one round of combat though. :/

I have also tried the biker boss but only in a squad with other biker nobs and that messes people up pretty god but very pricey.

Only time he hasn't: Nemesis Dreadknight with personal teleporter - heavy incinerator then challenge vaporized the squad then the boss.

He ran two NDK and two squads of paladins. I learned Orks can't really hang with that army when he overwatched 20 boyz from two squads in one round. Lootas are sub-optimal against NDKs.

In general I use my boss like a bully: vaporize 4+ armor with the Kombi-skorcha, charge small squads solo, or crush Land Raiders and Monoliths. Good times!

Not literally "the only time" but I usually make risking the boss a calculated choice

well if you like bullying have you tried to roll for the outflank warlord perk and sending your trukk in that way? i did it in a game a few nights ago and it was wicked fun

yeah i usually keep mine safe behind a wall of boys but also give him that armor save so he can go off and krump squads himself

Yeah, I've been really torn about swapping to a megaboss. I just don't want to give up the skorcha. I built my boss to deal with specific issues: scouts/pathfinders/ratlings/fire warriors in cover, other Orks/genestealers/wyches before assault, or AV14.

Nothing saying you can't do both.

Probably the optimal boss has a bike, a skorcha and a Klaw. However, I played a SM bike army for a while and I'm over it. If I want to play bikes I have a whole army of them...

Considering the Swarm lord costs more than my HQ and 5 meganobz (or is damn close) I wouldn't let that get to you at all, with Nids you HAVE to use guns to weaken them first, end of story. But yeah MC's are hard to counter as Orks and same with dreadnoughts without thinks like big gunz, lootas and dakka jets (all 3 are things I use in that list)

Warbiker boss + Biker nobz IMO are fast but not worth the points unless you are fighting a camper style army.

I primarily play against Guard and SM, so Mega Armor, Cybork, Attack Squig. If I need something fast I'll do Wazdakka Gutsmek (dakka cannon rips transports apart) or a Biker Boss with kombi skorcha and Pk.

Edit: I think gunning for the outflank warlord trait is too much of a gamble. I usually take strategic traits anyways. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice, but it's just not something I'd want to count on to win.

On a bike, with a powerklaw and cybork body. Sometimes the attack squig too.

Doesn't have to go with other bikers, he can hide in a mob of footsloggers until you're ready for him to go pounce something.
