I'd say go for it! Even with my chinese knock off airbrushes i was able to get half decent results on the small crates. If i was doing them again i would probably try and mask off the panels on the crates rather than painting them by hand and probably some bits on the vending machines just to break the colours up a bit.

@ mathieu - i thought it was obvious they are vending soft drinks!

Nice! Color me inspired.

My bud and I are just starting out with Infinity. I can't wait to slap some paint and build some terrain!

Woop! 'Inspiring people since 2013' !

@ Slave i'm sure you won't be disappointed. Painting some of the teeny tiny details on the minis can be a bit of a shock at first. And who doesn't like making terrain? Especially for Infinity. Here's some i prepared earlier ..

The chap who makes that terrain should use your pics with the advertisements for them, seriously! Lovely looking terrain, and the airbrush effect looks much, much better than my own brush-painted terrain!

Looking forward to more stuff for sure

This isn't scratch built? I was going to gush all over bantha for his skillz with a blade, but I guess I'll stay a bit more demure, then.

The scatter or the buildings? I posted a link to the scatter already. The buildings are indeed scratchbuilt. Just some foamcore with some textures added. Like this ..

And Pacific i would definitely recommend getting an airbrush, especially if you are doing terrain. I also use it for priming minis and or Infinity you can even do base colours/ highlighting on TAGs with one. So you should get plenty of use out of it.

I would not have guessed those were made with foamcore and textures. Very impressive! Tight work on the airbrushed pieces too.

This update's for Mathieu. Some pics of the Odalisque i painted as part of our mini swap over on the Infinity sub-foum. Should be making its way across the Atlantic as we speak!

I like your paintjobs a lot. They're quite subtle, but really nice at the same time.

Man, nice work Bantha! I was overwhelmed going through all the different minis in the first post, you have such a nice clean style and your paint-jobs give off a realistic vibe.

Hope to see some more Ariadna, keep up the good work!

Great job, banth! Mathieu is going to be chuffed with that for sure. I'll need to get cracking with Blue's now and hopefully we'll see more people get involved.

Mathieu thats just the i-Kohl! Thanks for the comments folks

@ Shanks I've been playing Yu Jing a lot recently so now i've finished the Odalisque i will probably be painting some more of them. But i'm sure i'll have some more Ariadna to paint at some point.

I suppose i should say 'read all about it' now but i don't know if i can bring myself to do it. Thought i would post some WIP pictures of some Exrah models i've been working on. I was painting my Morat vanguard models and had an idea for painting the armour on the exrah models. The one on the left has had a bit more highlighting on the armour plates but there is still a way to go before finishing both of them. :|

And i think i finally managed to work out how to take pictures with my camera without making them look totally washed out!

Well the armour plates started out a dark blue colour and i didn't really like it so they sat there for a while without doing anything to them. Then i was painting some morat vanguard and added teal blue to some blue armour on the morats and had a mini eureka moment of what to do with the exrahs. Couple of drybrushes later and i was much happier with how they looked. And i wanted the skin/ flesh to reflect the Exrah rule in the game so it has a nice soft fleshy bruised look to it.

I'll probably post some individual pictures when they are finished.

Do you mostly airbrush or just brush when working on miniatures?

Your stuff is fantastic, by the way!

Thanks Alphs No airbrush on minis on 25mm bases other than for priming. I've used it for some shading/ highlighting on my Guijia but it has some pretty massive thighs to hit with an airbrush Masking stuff off was a bit of a pain in the arse though.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Vector operator is pretty much done now apart from tidying up his base.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Really nice highlighting work on the armour - and the colour combination is great as well!

Nice to see such an original colour-scheme also!

@ Pacific Thanks. I was actually trying to sort of copy the colour scheme for the studio void operator, but obviously got it wrong

@ Casey The armour plates on this guy were just crying out for some edge highlighting. So who was i to say no?

Just finished off some bits on my gwailo that i wasn't totally happy with, like his gun, and actually painted his base this time! This one's ready for some varnish.

I know I've said it before elsewhere, but I love the muted, almost organic look to the colours.

Love it!

It has the classic old school Marvel Super Villain color scheme going for it too (green and purple!) - so that's a bonus!

Thanks guys.

@ Pacific - I think those sorts of colours suit the combined army pretty well. You don't know if its armour plates or alien bug scales or what so you'll just have to kill them to find out.

@ Alpharius - I hadn't even thought of that but that also suits the sneaky shasvasti as well, being super villainous!

This is very much the impression I get and it's awesome. Being unsure as to whether it's natural or manufactured really adds to the alien feel of it. Great job!
