Results?

Ish won best general, he went 3-0, he is truly a legend in his own mind. Michael got best army, all the pretty lights. Trevor won best overall, surprised him more than anything. I got best sportsmen, probably because you forgot to show up.

The day was really great. Travis set up a shrine to the unknown god or some such thing. I played on that one first. He bought some new felt in brown so now the turd droppings look betterish? The tables were well done, but the time for new terrain is really past. I had to move the 14" high trees a number of times, because they fell more times than I want to count. I really wish the store would get some new stuff.

You should have been there, the day was well worth it.

I took the top prize due to Mike L. and Carlos getting a hard fought draw at the top table.

This proves my long held theory that you can't win with helldrakes. if you want to be cut throat you bring a Land Raider full of Berzerkers and a Defiler!

That Land Raider move was pretty sweet. I heard the tank survived the whole game, even!

It was too bad he couldn't have shot that Defiler in the back. That would have been even sweeter!
Regardless of all that, congrats to Trevor for his win, and Trev, that Riptide will be here Friday.

In other news, the thread title has been updated for next month's event. We're going back to 1500 points, but keeping 2.5 hour rounds. As a special bonus for next time, there will be battlefields with climate effects! I almost finished my dust storms, poison gas clouds, and rules for the fluff tournament, but since it didn't make it in for the last one, we'll do it for the next one!

So we'll see everyone again in September!

How many points is it on the 14th?

1500 for this one. Since we are going to be doing some off the wall battlefield effects, I don't want to lengthen the games with a higher points level.

So with my army being stolen and all, Ill do my best to make an appearance with a ragtag force of whats left..There will be plenty of silliness.

It seems like the 2nd Saturday of the month always happens to be the most convenient for family activities.
At this rate my dice rolling hand may just atrophy and fall off from lack of use.

- insert obligatory joke about the dice rolling motion being the same as another "activity" hence no need to worry about muscle atrophy

Come now. I ran Orks and Space Wolves and was on the top table with Ian. If we hadn't gotten Hammer Anvil the game would have been much closer. And even in the game we played it was very close till turn 6. Never leave home without a Rune Priest, NEVER.

Oh man, thank goodness I didn't draw Ian in the final round, venom and ravager spam against an all organic all suit list, with relatively close range and hammer and anvil... yeah no thanks...

I lost to Ian with my Footdar. With night shields and his speed he just out-ranged me. If I had some wave serpents things might have been different.

Funny thing is, at the Nova Open I played against a DE army that was very close to Ian's and I beat it easily, but then I had Tau allies and the range was not much of an issue.

When is the Warmaster open info coming, I am really looking forward to playing in October.

I saw this at another tournament happening in October. Just throwing it out there, might be pretty fun to play with some weird rules. I mean normally Hard Boys tournaments have stupid missions.

All missions use the Reserves, Night Fighting, and Mysterious Objective rules.

Round One (11 am to 1 pm) - Trick or Treat Deployment Type - Dawn of War (long edges)
Fend off your opponents as you gather your treasures, but beware that not all of your plunder will benefit you.
This mission uses all the rules for the Crusade mission, with the following exceptions: do not roll for Night Fighting, it becomes night automatically on the fifth turn. At the end of the game, each objective is worth d3+1 victory points.

Round Two (2 pm to 4 pm) - Let's Start a Riot! Deployment Type - Hammer and Anvil (short edges)
The stage is set and blood is in the air. There is no strategic points to defend, no vital assets to capture, only a throng of foes with rage in their eyes, gathered beneath a blood-red moon.
This mission uses all the rules for the Purge the Alien mission, with the following exceptions: do not roll for Night Fighting, it is automatically night the entire game. Each player earns an additional Victory Point for each character they kill in a challenge.

Round Three (5 pm to 7 pm) - All Soul's Night Deployment Type - Vanguard Strike (diagonals)
As midnight passes and the blackness deepens, specters of the restless dead rise from their unmarked graves to silently re-enact the long forgotten battles of the past.
This mission uses all the rules for the Crusade mission, with the following exceptions: do not roll for Night Fighting, it is automatically night the first turn. Any unit in Reserve may be deployed using the Deep Strike rules.

Where is that tournament Mike? Looks pretty interesting and random, truly akin to the older 'Ard Boyz missions indeed!
