I decided to convert my SW rune priest in a huron (becaue tzeentch lord and DA is lame).
Theres probably a thread of this already but I can't find it, so can you please help me. Also, is he even worth it?

My friend used him in a 750 point game, I got raped, I would have beaten him silly if he had chosen a different HQ. Yes, he is worth it.

In my experience, with small games. he is worth it.

He's great as your warlord, as he is a solid to very good character on his own for the points cost, but also gives you the d3 infantry units infiltrating warlord trait and that is just money. The only drawback that I have had in my experience with him is that he doesn't have a mark, and therefor does not unlock any cult troops.

I have used in him in only 3 battles so far, but have never once questioned the points spent.

I've always thought about trying to get obliterators closer, but you'd probably need to pair them with a fast counter charge unit for that to be effective and not just funny.

I've used him for this exact thing. Two Oblits infiltrating to get in the opponent's face quicker and in a more focused manner. My squads are all in Rhinos so they could be fast back up if needed but since I tend to make sure the oblits are in cover it's rarely necessary. They have been very effective at killing units that would otherwise be a threat to my two Forgefiends later in the game. This tactic alone has caused people to start taking fewer and fewer Vindicator's against me. Of course it's also caused them to take MORE devastator squads which is a huge pain in the arse ... lol

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

Wait, what were we talking about again? Did I ever tell you about the time I gave you five bees for a quarter? That's what you'd say in those days, "give me five bees for a quarter", is what you'd say in those days. And you'd go down to the D&D shop, with an onion in your belt, 'cause that was the style of the time. So there I was in the D&D shop..."

I had paired him with Fabius. I gave Fabius' gifted unit the first infiltrate.... and slaanesh marked them and gave them the FNP ICON. There is something terrifying about I5, STR5, infiltrating, FNP blobs of chaos space marines in the amount of >15

yes both the FNP and the fearless str5 buff work best on HUGE footslogging blobs. When I do it I always do it with 20 men 2 with meltas. I pair them with a large group of cultists to screen them and tarpit something else. Usually fabius goes here(why not)

I'm pretty sure Huron is going to be the second coming of Coteaz. He's a very solid utility HQ choice at a bargain basement price. Knowing that you're getting a Warlord trait that doesn't suck combines nicely with having a heavy flamer, an AP3 weapon to swing at I5 and an AP2 weapon for when he needs is couples nicely with the random psychic powers.

Admittedly, I don't think Huron should have had Veteran of the Long War since he's not a Great Crusade veteran, but that's another story.

I was thinking of infiltrating him with some Plague marines so they can soak up fire and draw attention (cuz their good at that) then use the time to run my berzerkers up and kill everything. I would get rhinos but I don't have any ... Alternatively I can use TS(ish) or havocs to do this as well if theres enough cover. Basically infiltrate the anvils with huron and then bring in the hammer with zerkers, raptors, hellbrutes, etc.

This a good tactic?

Whatever unit is going to go with huron really need not be fearless. You should try to keep your fearless units spread out so you have as many of them as possible. Perhaps huron and a large unit of MoN or MoS+FNP marines and then as a second unit you can bring a large unit of PM(66% of the time you get 2 units or more). This way you have 2 large units of fearless, tough guys up front.

Zerkers, raptors and helbrutes are pretty poor hammers. None of them are competitive choices in this codex. They aren't terrible, but there are better things.

Huron is good. He's pretty good by himself, and he has a great utility skill. If you do not have a specific flavour (i.e. a specific god), he's the way to go.
