Started collecting and painting and modeling 3 months ago so I still have a lot to learn and a lot of pratice ahead of me, not to mention my camera skills! (mainly due to poor lighting as it is getting dark here at 4pm now.

I have 105 assault marines and 80 odd tac marines to go with it, most are painted

in three months!! wow, now thats some going!!

Holy crap, I don't even have half of that...and it's been over 6 months!

Kudos for putting paint to that number of models!

Some things I can recommend quickly though: base all your models (it makes them look twice as good), a wash on the silver parts, and some highlights on the red and grey parts.It might be the pictures but parts of the models, especially the vehicles, look very plain. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice buddy, I have based the first lot with sand coloured basing, but a bit boring? might look to do something a little more interesting then go the whole hog and do a load at once. And yes I need to decide if I want to use the armypainter quick shade again to shade them or use nuln oil on the silver bits as I have been doing before.

I dont think it is the pictures, I have been trying to highlight a few of the red sections using wild rider red with a very light layer on the edge, The vehicles will hopefully get some more attention as I broaden my painting skills.

I have also just bought some aftermarket bases, few for the attack bikes, 2 large ones for thunderfire cannons and two dread sized ones for the librarian dreads that I would have a experiment with, if I like I will re do all the dread bases.

I do play, I wouldnt have started the hobby again if I couldnt have got at least two games a week, so far thats been easy and also been to a few tournies in the UK, done ok with those

I do have a fair few amount of captains, but only a few painted!

Sorted out a campaign game against inquistor steve at the overlords pod cast. Using Vanilla marines for a change, plus wanted to try out a few new toys.

Yowch are the Tarantula's Forge World or kitbashed if kitbashed how? I've developed a fondness for them from Dawn of War

They are razorback turrets with the ammo feed belts snipped off underneath and the feet/base is the forgeworld tarantula base, well its the hyperios air defence launcher base which is the same.

At the mo I have around 4 full companies, 2nd company (mix), 8th company (assault marines), 9th company (devis) and 1st company. Troops are all there for those with no crossover but not enough dreads , from what I am reading I would need 11 dreads

Just one thing: You have been collecting for three months?
Three months, and you have this many models? Maybe you should slow down and play some games, learn what you like to field before buying everything out there?
This is not meant as critisism, I love to see epic armies like this, but slow down and take a breath brother Captain, you hopefully have a whole life of this epic hobby ahead

I do play, quite a lot!, have at least 2 games a week at different venues, and attend tournies when I can, so far been to 5, been collecting for 5 months now. Newest addition is a few bikers, and with that I'll slow down buying as I can now field every type of list, full terminator, full bikes, full mech, full assault marine both JP and non, full tac spam and 5 flyers (although not in the same list,2 are DA flyers which I will also use as storm talons and 3 storm ravens.)

Points wise, I'd hazard a guess at around 25k now.

About time I updated this.

Land raiders finished off a bit more and a few more added. There is currently 3 Crusaders that have magnisted sponsons, so can be redeemers, 2 godhammers/terminus ultras, one can be anything (crusader/redeemer god hammer terminus ultra) and the other is glued so is godhammer or TU.

There is also a achilles and recently a prometheus, also waiting for delivery of a Helios





And Chronus sitting on top of the Prometheus, it is the command tank after all...


The biker army is now finished, (and up for sale :()



57 models, Libby on bike chaplain/captain on bike and techy on bike with RW command squad, 36 troop bikers, 12 black knights and 6 attack bikes.

No... No ... Me es no want to apocalypse game you.
But seriously that is one truly impressive army.
If you want to try taking ur pics in front of a white background like paper or something, makes the pics a lot cooler and cleaner. Then you can do close-ups, epic poses and what nots. Trust me a man knows his wares.

ouch, I though I was going quickly getting to 4K in 6 months!!!!

They look really awesome though, how you paint them up so quickly I dont know, most of my marines are in nothing more than basecoat so far!

Not exactly a skilled painted, and I tend to batch paint,

uhm, just a few guys there, I think mine would look lost as theres only about 50 guys and 8 vheicles!

You must make sh**loads of cash mate...and have lots of spare time...
