So, I'll cut straight to the point: This is a blog about...

1) My armies - Grey Knights, Minotaurs, Guard, and Plague Marines.
2) See #1

So... short and simple start to much more convoluted stuffs. Also, as a new rule of thumb, I won't make a post without atleast one photo. Just to spice things up a bit.

So to get us started off right, here's the beginning to my newest army - CSM Plaguemarines of Nurgle!

List at this point is simple, and likely to change

28 x zombies
28 x zombies
28 x zombies
7 x Plague marines - 1 x Flamer
7 x Plague marines - 1 x Flamer
7 x Plague marines - 1 x Flamer
7 x Bikers (horsemen) - Mark of nurgle, Special weapons to come
7 x Bikers (horsemen) - Mark of nurgle, Special weapons to come
1 x Typhus - DERP
1 x Daemon Prince of Nurgle - PA, Black Mace
1 x Defiler - Converted from a Soulgrinder as I find those to be much more attractive

Here's pictures to get you all started off right. Also, YES there is a Dreadnought - Hellbrute - whatever they are now that is not in the list. Don't know if he's going to make the cut yet, but looks too sexy to not paint.

Anywho, hope those who read this can atleast enjoy my torment as I try to finish all these armies. Cheers!

Some progress pics. Been working on a little of everything.

Nurgle Daemon Prince - Got the body cleaned up and assembled. Had to do some greenstuff magic behind the head (mind the gap). Still haven't decided what to do with the head, thinking gas mask or maybe Cthulhu head... thoughts? Also soon to be working on a black mace, themed after Sauron's mace from LoTR.

Stuck the bodies of the cleaned finecast plague marines to their bases, so at least I can sort of use them if I decide to get a game in.

Otis (soulgrinder) is going to get some love and become my counts as defiler. Just don't particularly care for the defiler as it's just this little tiny box on a huge set of legs. Plan is to convert the claw-hands exhaust ports to three reaper autocannon barrels, and somehow add a havoc launcer or counts as to the power claw hand. Sill debating about the battlecannon though - part of me is thinking over the shoulder like Warmachine (Ironman). Again, thoughts?

Paddy (dreadbrute - coining the phrase NOW) got his arms all cleaned up and ready for painting beyond the basecoat.

Also, here's some songs that helped deliver inspiration for this force.

First, the song that named my Dreadbrute Paddy

And here's the theme for the army for the moment.

Now, back to work! Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Another good suggestion, but for now I'm trying to stay away from Fast Attack options since I want to run Bikers (horseman) of the Apocalypse. Two squads of those and the last is staying open for either another or for a Helldrake.

But I like the idea of the lord holding the rope.

Well finally got the Daemon Prince figured out - going to get a Defiler mask and use that as the head - little greenstuff magic and BOOM, gas-masked awesomeness!

Here's the final pics of the Black Mace I made. Let me know what you guys think! Pretty proud of the simple modding it took. Also the chance to cannibalize some BA axes hahaha.

Still thinking of a name for the Daemon Prince though. Can't decide if funny or serious fits it more. But, plenty of time for working that all out later!

Also, here's the FW stuff I finally got all scrubbed up tonight - damn flash!!!

So Christmas turned out to be a pretty good time to get stuff worked on, which turned out to be the greatest gift of all (next to spending time with my family of course).

Got the Daemon Prince helmet I needed via the swap shop (THANK YOU), and I'm ecstatic about how it turned out. What do you guys think?

Also managed to get more plague marines assembled - two squads of 7 completely assembled!!!

And most importantly, finally got back to work on Otis - Gave him a nice head swap, and next plan to figure out the battle cannon situation. Belly Cannon? Perhaps....

Quick upload before I call it quits for the evening.

Daemon Prince dried up enough to get the next drybrush and wash - letting it dry overnight and then get to finish up on the basecoat color for the armor hopefully tomorrow.

Thank you for stopping by for a look! Of all the chaos gods I love nurgle the most. But I truly hate how everyone seems to do nurgle as bloated and grotesque as possible. So this army I'm going for a unique feel - want the focus to be on their age, decay, and stained and battle scarred appearance. I think my flesh is going to end up either green or a deadened grey.

But truly avoiding the bloated crazy pustules and obese obscenity as much as possible.

That's a good take on the army. And, I suspect you must feel a bit 'meh' at the sudden inslaught of Nurgle, thanks to the new codex. Hopefully, your local gaming group/meta won't lump you in with all the people jumping on the Bandwagon.

I think they're just ecstatic that I'll be playing again. I kinda gave it up for a time since my GK's just kept winning and everyone was ragging on the army and the codex. Sucks the fun out of playing the army for me when everyone hates on it so much haha.

And believe me, this is a welcomed diversion from prim and proper grey knight painting.... ... now that's evil

Well got the Daemon Prince's basecoat finished. Absolutely LOVE how he turned out.

Also go those plague marines basecoated and got the first wash on them. Tomorrow I'm taking the day off work for some appointments - so I plan on getting more work done on Otis starting with the Battle Cannon.

Well, turns out I'm going to get a lot more done today than originally expected haha.

Here's Otis with his fancy new cannon. Pretty proud of the Greenstuff work. I'm not very good with it, but I think it turned out great.

Also got more done on the Plaguemarines. Letting them dry from the 2nd wash, and basecoating a few that need to catch up to the rest.

Great work on the Greenstuff. I still think you needed to put the gun lower, so he could have an enormous Nurgley wang.

WELL, to be honest we were considering putting on a shadowsword cannon.... but we thought some might complain about modelling for advantage... also would be a pain in the butt to fit into a transport case haha.

So... Short update.

Got to work on finishing up my tac squads for my Minotaurs. Only 8 guys, why'd it take me so long to get the motivation?

Played a game of GK vs White Scars last night @ 2000 Points. It was Dawn of War and The game type where we fight over 6 objectives of various values. Was fun to try out, but we called it on turn 2 as my GK's were just way too shooty for the bikers. But the biggest hitters in the game were my two Dreadknights. The more I run those guys, the more I love them. They just beat the snot out of everything it seems.

OH, and did an unboxing video of my first mystery box from Spikey bits!!! Here's the video, and I HIGHLY recommend watching. Not because it's my first video ever, but because I want you to know what made me so excited I felt like this:

Thanks for the feedback on the mace! Not many people have said anything regarding it. Arguably my favorite piece of work in the entire force at the moment... but Typhus has yet to reach the table!!!

Hope to get some new years resolutions figured out (belated of course)that might help give me an and get me to start pumping out progress on a more consistent basis.

LOT of progress between 5:00pm yesterday and.... now (2:45AM).

Typhus got assembled and basecoated - WOOT. Glad to finally have him ready for the fun part. Thought about trying to do some crazy modding with his scythe to get a different pose with him holding it with just on hand, and have the other one pointing, but just didn't want to spoil the fun of Typhus in his poster-child glory.

As far as basing him goes, planning on doing something along the lines of zombie arms coming forth from the ground in the open space in front of him, possibly pulling down some unlucky guardsman? I think likely.

Also FINALLY got the last 8 tac marines for the Minotaurs knocked out (Built) and basecoated. Now I have the minimum 2 troops choices necessary. Might try to get them in a game sometime soon, but more than likely won't happen for a bit.
Used IG Heavy Weapon Missile Launchers as I didn't have SM one's or the urge to purchase them either.

Some closeups of the ones I liked the most out of the 8.

And to finish up the update, took a trip down memory lane by pulling out an old project and knocking out a good chunk of it in tonight's sitting - a pre-heresy build of Logan Grimnar for Space Wolves.

Used to play space wolves, still love them, but sold them off to fun my affair with Grey Knights. Pretty happy with how he's turned out so far. Still needs a pelt cloak over his back to cover some less than pretty greenstuff/superglue work, but should give him a nice feel in the end.

Put forth a lot of effort to make him look similar to how he does post heresy - wolf on the leg of the armor, belt fed stormbolter, stuff like that.

That's it for now. Going to bed. Gotta be rested to make Pancakes and eggs tomorrow!

ALMOST FORGOT: Here's a picture of Paddy, not sure if he ever got in the previous posts after he got the basecoate!

Well not much in the way of painting. Been scraping on zombies, trying to get the horde underway. Approaching completion of 1 full squad soon (tonight?).

Played a game of GK vs BA this weekend against my roommate. FInally got beat by the BA's. HUZZAH!

Roommate brought a balanced list (think we've finally broken his fixation with deathstars haha) and deployed taking two of the three objectives. It was that diagonal deployment with Big Guns never tire.

I brought the same 2k list that I used against my friends White Scars last time. Great game, came down to the wire with me contesting 1 objective, both of us owning 1, and him claiming the win for killing my two Dreadknights and claiming first blood.

One of the best games either of us had played. Only regret on my part is that I made a massive tactical error in my deployment. Started with my Pally/Draigo/Inquistor command squad on the opposite board edge on my objective in a bunker to evade fire from his devs, only to later reaize that his plas was only range 36''. Also deployed one of my Dreadknights on that same side of the board, where it bascially did nothing until it got shot down.

In the end it was a fantastic game, and was still very close. Just was a hard learned lesson to think about my deployment throughout the game versus just turn one.

Still though, My command squad refused to take crap from ANYONE haha.
