My army has roughly 20ish berzerkers, 20 havocs, 20 raptors 20 cultist ,30 plaguers, 30 marines, 8 TS, 10 noise marines, 3 hellbrutes, huron and kharn.

So my army has a good mixture of dakkas and choppas so I came up with a little tactic.
I use huron's infiltrate to get my strong/tough shooters into position first. If theres good cover on the bored I'd deploy my havocs, if theres not enough I'd deploy my Plaguers, if I can deploy 3 infiltrators I'll do both.
Then while the other git shoots up my shooters, I'll run my choppas across the field and chop him up good.

Some might say infiltrating choppas first is good, but they have to be 12 inch maximum away from the enemy so assaulting first turn fails, and if they go first means the choppas get shot up.
But I haven't battled in years (mostly converting now) and I don't really know much about tactics.
So is this a good idea? or is it gonna just blow up in my face?

Seems to me infiltrating shooty units is best in 6th edition, for the reasons you cite.

The trick seems to be getting them into the right position. I have had some luck infiltrating Noise Marines 18 inches from the enemy, but have had some disasters with them as well. I'd advise infiltrating shooty units near enough that your main force can catch up with them before too long.

Havocs with what?
I like 2 5 man with autocannons and a 6 man with lascannons. That is still only 16 men though.

Raptors are not terrible, but chaos is serious all about the better FA choices(that basically is 50% or more of the power in the dex) bikes, spawn and helturkeys are all better.
Until you can get some bikes, or convert your raptors into bikes(as I have http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/493771.page) you might want to run 3 squads of raptors. A big one with flamers and two small ones with meltas. Run them up to support your infiltrators.

the 30 plague marines are good. Run them in small squads or if you want to infiltrate them, run them larger. Without a MoN lord they are elites....

zerkers, ehh just arent that good. I suppose a 20 man squad could be infiltrated but they just arent likely to do much other than get shot up or decimated by better assault troops. If you are taking kharn then they are troops and 'ok.' I would run them without a character.

20 cultists, not really enough to be a super successful bus, but I would run them with kharn and either infiltrate them or run them forward. combined with the raptors running and the plagues infiltrating kharn should see combat and who cares if he betrays a few cultists.

noisemarines arent any good if they arent troops.

Some of your regular CSM should run with huron in a farily large squad that can also infiltrate if you roll well. Run them as MoS with icon of excess, you can use some of your noise marine models here.

Tsons arent very good, and they arent good in units of 8 as you have to pay the sorc tax. Take 20 as troops or dont take them.

The helbrutes also should probably be left at home. You dont have any other vehicles, so keep it that way. Make your opponent use his lascannons and dropmeltas on 15 point models
