Here's the latest out there on the grapevine regarding both Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40,000 in the months ahead.

via the little birdies:
Q1
Late-December-January: Dark Angels
February-March: Chaos Daemons (still LOTS of chatter of a synchronized release of 40k/WFB Daemons books like Games Workshop did last time)
March: 40K Miniatures Wave ALPHA (see below)
Another Hobbit release wave is in this quarter as well.

Q2
April: Warhammer Fantasy Armybook
May: Tau Empire
June: 40K Miniatures Wave BETA (see below)

40K Miniatures waves are said to be:
Ork wave: with buggy, wartrack, updated Battlewagon, coptas, flashgitz, and tankbustas
Flyer wave: with: Eldar, Tau, Tyranid, Dark Eldar kits
The order of those two waves is in contention, but both keep coming up in chatter.

WFB Army books for 2013 are said to be "pointy ears and 8-pointed star" variety.

Thing is, we've got we've got chatter on releases further ahead than Daemons, but nothing new on their release since August.

Makes me think it's not going to be a very big release or perhaps the GW hat is getting harder to pull things out of.

I hope we finally get a Harpy kit, I tried them out on the weekend and they were surprisingly good for the points.

He's posted another, earlier, list that is pretty similar a couple of days ago.

This is what Larry posted on BOLS yesterday:
The most interesting things show up in the dead of the night. Here's the latest notes from the singing holiday birds on what 2013 has in store for Warhammer 40,000 and Fantasy...

JAN: Dark Angels
FEB: Daemons
MAR: Wave month (hobbit, warriors of chaos, 40k)
APR: High Elves
MAY: Tau
JUN: Summer wave (40k, supplement book for 40k)
JUL: Lizardmen
AUG: Mystery Box
SEP: Wave month
OCT: ???
NOV: Eldar
DEC: ???

Now, as usual, these things tend to get more speculative as you go outwards in time, but overall these line up with what we've been hearing from a variety of chatter. We've been hearing for a while that the "Mystery Box" is a fully revamped Blood Bowl. This list would certainly be a "year of xenos" - I can hardly wait.

Doesn't contradict Hasting's predictions.

Though, it'd good to know I won't have to spend much money for what looks like at least half a year. I'm down with that.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

More than that, GW posted the full page

However I do remember somthing about GW saying hobbit releases will not effect WHFB or 40k, so i suppose it is possible they could have deamons in the same month.

Yes.... high elves and Lizard men... Perfect... Leave Dark Elves alone and let WE, Brets, and dwarves become more and more obsolete... This is exactly as I have foreseen it...

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

I see that they're under a wave release, but did Warriors of Chaos get dropped from getting updated in 2013? And while I would love a Dark Elf update (let's face it, they really need new models), I'm not going to complain about High Elves getting fixed up.

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

TN/AL/MS state line.

I hope they really do release a Harpy kit for Tyranids, the Voidraven Bomber I'm less enthusiastic about. It's a more expensive Razorwing that you buy the missiles for. Other than the one flyer wave(if/when it does happen) looks like I don't have to worry too much about spending money on GW stuff for awhile. Unless Eldar are really awesome that is...

Birthday's in January, so I can save up all my b-day money and look forward to spending it a few weeks later in early Feb on my shiny new (and hopefully no longer game-breaking), Daemons!

I haven't been able to put them on a Fantasy table for 4 years without being automatically accused of being a TFG, WAAC's loser who's ruining the hobby.
I don't blame my fellow non-Daemon Fantasy counterparts for this attitude though. 7th ed was an absolute travesty and I don't think there really was to play a 'tame' or 'friendly' Daemon army. It was really just that over-powered and busted to the nines.

However, it's getting damn fustrating that all of a sudden, after an entire edition of being the worst army in 40k, all of a sudden my 9 Flamers + 5 Screamers are so broken I'm a horrible person and I deserve to be ruthlessly curbstomed by tailored GK's every game...

40k players do seem to be so much whinier and more prickly about everything.

Super excited about new tau stuff! I just hope they get the full Dark Eldar/Necron treatment (ie, full revamp of the model range and expanded fluff). Would be jarring to have sleek new battlesuits side by side with some of the clunky old models.

Well, at least Chaos Daemon look to be getting an update...

If both Tau and Eldar do get an update, then that leaves Black Templars (with an old codex), Sisters of Battle (With a WD dex and a range that is almost entirely metal) and Eldar (again, old 'dex) left to be updated, right?

EDIT: Why the hell did I write Dark Eldar??? I meant Eldar, lol
