I'm going to come out and say it straight off. I'm not a fan of the stormtalon model GW puts out. I came in hoping you'd found a way to improve the way it looks.

I will leave disappointed, with only this comment (My mother said "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything.") :

I can't like this model.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I like the model! I don't like the color scheme... as a wage slave working in a home depot, I kind of hate orange.

Did you guys know Canada has a friggin desert?

I like it, though the paintjob is a bit too warm for my tastes (then shain, i might have a bias ) anyways, I fo preffer the one on the back more ss he seems like he could actually be going pretty fast. Do you have any pictures
Of the back by any chance?

You're not playing the game like I play it...why aren't you playing the game like I play it?! O_O

Its a little to crazy for my taste. But i give you credit for attempting this either way because i love conversion work!

Hopefully one day i'll have an army!

Personally, when I saw this bird, I looked at the conversion possibilities. Not only did I make this model but I also made two conversions of it. The body lends itself to make other variations. I made the standard Talon, a manned walker version and a helicopter version. The next conversion is to make it look like a Anakin Jedi fighter version. As for coloring, it is up to the builder to choose the chapter colors. Build it and enjoy. BTW my Storm Talons are made out of paper (cardstock) and scratch built.

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

I like these a lot! As others have said, they're quite Star Warsish. I think I'd have probably put the cockpit a little further forward though - it looks a little odd with nothing behind it. Cool conversions though.

Its the back end. It doesn't taper off at all, it just ends. Maybe if you take some plasticard and extend it back beyond the cockpit. I don't know. It just looks wrong.

Points for trying. Looks more like a Tau or slightly Eldar in design.

Good idea, not so great execution IMO. I really think the only problem you have is the cockpit; it's far too elevated compared to the rest of the aircraft, and it seems to be in a weird position. If you just changed the cockpit, I must say I'd like it!

A- It doesn't look like it's finished
B- I think we need some better pictures as well.

Just a hint, when you post the pictures, use a clean background and leave out the clutter. By doing this, the viewers will focus on the model itself.

With all the negatives, I may have to rework my version a little bit. Overall, I like it and it is almost similar as to what I may do in the future. Remember, the name of the game is to enjoy yourself. Keep up the good work and see you around the forum.

Hmmm. Really surprised at the amount of negative comments.

Personally, I think that it is far and away better than the standard look for the Stormtalon. I don't think it looks perfect, but I think (for me) that the look I associate with the Imperium doesn't lend itself to good flyers. Generally speaking, I don't like the way ANY of them look. If this was a GW produced sculpt, I would definitely consider it to be one of the better ones.

Reminds me of the drag racers from the 60s and 70s , slingshot style. It is different. Points for trying and big points for the imagination of it.

Im normally not one for criticiszing someones works, But this just looks odd. They remind me of pod racers. I be it did take some hard work to make this, but i just do not like the look of it.
Really the only thing that kills it outright is the cockpit, If is twas situated in the back, it would be lower down. But this is to high up and looks like it might tip the plane backwards.
But then again im of the few that think the original storm talon looks awesome

Sorry can't disclose.....infiltrating

From a usefulness in combat perspective this, I'm not sure how one would accurately get this thing to work correctly, the dimensions are all whacked, don't get me wrong its a clean job and great effort just not my cup of tea, at first glance though I though you made the talon into a cup holder and almost received an exalt

If usefulness and operational features are paramount, then none of the Imperial armor is realistic in nature. None of the Rhinos can fit a squad of Space Marines and their equipment. and how are the engines and transmission, PTO units installed inside. The armored tanks are another question, how does that small turret of a Leh-Man Russ handle the recoil system of the cannons. The Baneblade has a crew of 10, How are they placed inside the hull and how is power transferred to the drive wheel. The suspension system on all the vehicles are almost none existent. All of the flyers are not aerodynamically designed. There is no aerodynamics to the wings, They are flatter than a pancake grill plate. The xenos vehicles are more viable than the Imperials, with more aerodynamics. (Except the Orks and Chaos) . There are many discrepancies in the GW vehicles but they are just fun to build and paint. Can this conversion be fixed to look a bit more reasonable? Probably, and with all of the critique given, not everyone will be pleased with the final results. As for me, it looks great and I look at it as a challenge to build it myself a bit more differently but using some of the ideas I have seen here.

When I was in the military, I used to tell my soldiers, do not tell me or gripe about how you can't do this or that. If you have a gripe or critique, then give me a solution to the problem. Until I find a better way, then this will stand as is.

Enjoy in the efforts of others who wish to share their works.
