As per the rumours, THQ is going down - they are not selling Relic, the developer of the Dawn of War series, as I heard Relic is an outside asset they do not plan on liquidating yet.

However, with SEGA recently acquiring the Fantasy licence, maybe it's possible that Relic/THQ loses their W40K licence and someone else gets to make new videogames?

Personally, I think that it could be a good move, as there is a significant lack of W40K videogames.

Sounds like not much will change so I wouldn't be worried about DoW,

The Tick: Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you've got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.

So in layman's terms, nothing's going to change with that chosen owner?

I have little knowledge about this but wouldnt relic be fine? Would they just be owned by someone else?

I would guess so, but recently, because of THQ's troubles, Relic's games were also in trouble / the development cycle slowed down. Think what happened to Dark Millenium Online - Vigil Games is also supposedly independent, but things aren't looking well for them.

Hopefully this article makes things a bit clearer.

In short Bankruptcy is used as a vehicle to continue trading, without bad debts. The new owner holds all the assets.
