This has come up in a couple of my recent games and I think I've been playing it wrong so far...

Space Marine Scouts have Infiltrate and Scout and so after infiltrating out of line of sight can then scout move to get into line of sight letting them use their sniper rifles on turn 1.

This part doesn't seem to be a problem. Generally I don't want sniper scouts that close to the enemy but sometimes terrain forces my hand.

At the store I play at we often have a couple of dilapidated bastions on the board. One day I decided to infiltrate out of line of sight behind a Bastion and use the Scout move to get inside. Now I originally wanted to move them directly up onto the battlements (I couldn't infiltrate up there being closer than 18" and in line of sight) but my opponent told me that you can only move through one section of a Bastion per move so my Scouts could only move into the interior and not directly to the Battlements. He then proceeded to shell the building and squish the Scouts inside on turn 1.

Now I just re-read the rules for Battlements and it seems that my opponent was wrong and so long as a building is empty or only occupied by friendlies then you can move straight from the door to the Battlements (where the odds of a building landing on you are reduced due to nobody being able to target the building directly).

My other question is if the Scout move is actually a move or a redeploy? If it's a redeploy can I just move my scouts directly to the battlements without having to reach the building door?

The scout 'move" is a 6" or 12" redeploy based on unit type... pg 41

OK but the rules for Battlements on page 95 say that you can only deploy directly to the Battlements when the building is in your deployment zone so does that mean that for Infiltrators that are deploying outside your zone they can never deploy to the battlements or even walk in the door since the Scout move isn't a move but a redeploy?
