I've been really interested in 3d tiles for a little while.
Super Dungeon Explore tiles in 3d for this Kickstarter, you can also get them painted.

I saw this earlier today - $7 for the little accessories package seems like a good deal.
$15 for the 8 pack of little potion counters seems kinda pricey. As does $300 for a full game board (though they are certainly very nice).

More interested in the flat 12x12 tile option if that comes out of it. Been looking to use Hirst, but this is ironically the same price (and at most I want 6 of the flat boards) to magnetise the tops.

Meh, for about half that price you could buy the Hirst Arts molds, plaster, and other supplies to make it yourself.
And then you still have the supplies to make other stuff after that, too.

The thing is, The hirst molds and materials cost end up being the same cost, and the final product is less durable, heavier and harder to transport as 'converted terrain' breaks where mostly 'one piece' casted terrian holds up really well.
To get close to this detail, you need at least 5 of the hirst molds, and if you just buy tiles from caster resellers, you need about 100$ worth of tiles and parts to make 2 boards.
The price breakdown I found was I would need to make 10 boards to justify me buying the molds and materials myself.
And this assumes someone has the skill to cast the pieces (which is tedious) and the skill to assemble and paint.
Technically we can all buy a 10$ blister of GS and sculpt any model known to man... but it takes time, skill and effort. That is why we pay others to make stuff we want.

Yeah, I still plan on getting Hirst Molds.
But the 12x12 tile (at a reasonable price) is a perfect thing for me... I don't have the patience for that.

I dislike price gouging as much as the next guy, but time is money and complex terrain projects like this just aren't feasible for us dakkanauts that have intense schedules. This kickstarter seems fairly legit.

Seriously. As a big Hirst-Arts hobbyist myself, people have no idea how much time and effort goes into one of those builds. It's considerable.
Oddly though, the whole thing is moot as he states that he's going to be re-sculpting the whole shebang? From the FAQs:
Will the final product be using Hirst Arts product?
No. Anything that was used for the demo boards will be being re-sculpted for the final product.
That seems pretty odd to me. And the extra time and effort of rescuplting all that to the same level of detail as the Hirst blocks seems enormous! And it has to be at least as good, because that's what he's using to sell people on...

Yeah, Hirst allows you to license commercial recasted products... Seems like a perfect opportunity especially since people like the look of Hirst. This stuck out to me as well. It may be that he needs to not use Hirst Products to not tie his hands for future business issues.

Nope, The most heroes you can play SDE with is 5, and it is one board per hero. So Small games will only have 1 or 2 boards and a full game will have 5. The 6th board is a 'card holder' for game counters.
Most people will need 3 or 5.

Thats not actually true... There is nothing stoping you from playing the game with more then 5 hero's, you just need to either pick up a second set or buy extra minions. I run SDE at conventions all the time using 6 or 8 tiles, its a real crowd draw.
I'd be more interested in this project if whats pictured was the final project, as I really like it. However I'm not going to spend that kind of money sight unseen from a company that doesn't have a name to protect.

Agree. We have over a month until it ends.
I would like to see some sculpting that is going to replace the Hirst molds. If these were Hirst licensed, I would be all in as I know those products, like the look and feel of the sculpts and would expect quality like the photos. I still hope maybe there can be away to license and use Hirst molds.

Aggred.
I'm also curious, since these aren't going to be hand made why not just bite the bullet and go vaccum molded plastic and sell the things on the cheap. It's not like SDE models are heavy.

What are we talking about here for the sizes of the board?
I went home for a little break and cranked one out of my own for another project in about three days.
First was the planning. Took an hour or so. Then went and bought up some materials, a base board I went back and gridded and cut the board into sections.
Used a wood engraver and chisles, as well as the styro for the raised levels.
Paint it with the kids paint from the hobby store, and they were ready for the game.
I have the Hurst stuff, already for when I get back to the project.
By the way- Anyone know where to get those chibi skulls from by themselves?
THIS product looks awsome though. Are we looking here at funding a compnay? An extention product for the base game, add ons for the roxxor set?
Issue I see is exactly what some are already alluding to. It comes into conflict with Sodapop, and I can honestly see this being crushed on the vine.
Excellent stuff though, the style is fun.
I would be interested if they just sold out the scenery packets themselves.

I seem to remember there being some mention on the KS site about the pictures of SDE minis being used with permission by Soda Pop minis, and I know there is an active thread about the Kickstarter on Soda Pop's own forums too - so I think they are well aware of it.
I doubt Soda Pop is looking to make any heavy terrain any time soon anyway (though one could only hope - cause if these were plastic and cheap, I'd be all over them).

I'm interested in the walls, the scenery and the paceholders for the treasures, etc... If thats the case.
As to the info, if Sodapop has no issue, I'll throw a few bucks, but I don't want to hear after the project is over with that they had to "Shut down for legal reasons."
Because if thats the case, I'd rather just make my own.
Is there an official discussion somewhere on this? Are there more things in the range then just the tile boards?
such as... more chibi heads?

The KS creator (Tyson) is on there and has answered some questions there. That might be a place to go if you have any questions.
As per legality: He even mentions he contacted SP about doing a "game tracker" board - but they nixed that because it veered too closely into SDE IP. So he must be running stuff by them beforehand.

Hey guys, sorry about coming late to this thread. I was just pointed over to it.
I am the creator of this project.
I have talked with SP about this project and they loved it! As long as I did not copy game specific mechanics, such as the damage tracker board I am in the clear for anything I wanted to do.
If you have any questions on stuff feel free to ask.
And thank you to anyone that has backed or is thinking about it.

So... What size are these Board's?
Can I get one 3X3?
Do you have scenery only option for the KS?
How about those skulls? Any way to get a pile of those, or sell them singles, or in packs?
Oh, and by the way?
I want in on some of that action, as well.
How are we looking at for chibi headed dungeon and .... stuff to go along with all the other ones?

@ Grot 6:
Each tile is 12"x12" square. There are 7 different tile options.
I do not have a scenery only option specifically, but there are add-ons for terrain pieces that can be pledged for. Check the main page more down towards the bottom for the pictures of the add-on items.
I can add an add-on for just the skulls too.
I am not sure what this question pertains too though "How are we looking at for chibi headed dungeon and .... stuff to go along with all the other ones?"
Are you maybe talking about another board design that is more chibi style in theme?
