But we're rather short on funds at the moment, and the local cat rescue places are full, with waiting lists of hundreds of cats, as well as being understaffed and underfunded. She knows we can't really afford it, but it's really friendly, meows at you pathetically, and she's female.... I think that explains it all. So it's currently set up in the conservatory with newspaper, blankets, and the few bits of cat-stuff we had left from a cat we had over a year ago. She's perked up a bit for being in the warm, and is really quite friendly. BUT, she needs cleaning, probably needs shaving (very matted fur), needs its claws trimming, looks like it needs deworming, delousing, etc, as well as being quite malnourished and needing a lot of TLC. It looks like its front-left-leg is hurt, and she really needs going to the vet. But all of this costs money, so I'm here to ask if some of you would be willing to donate whatever you can spare to help this kitty back to health. Click here to donate whatever you can. Every little helps. It's Christmas after all.

Merry Christmas!

Just walk into your local PDSA and leave it with them.

She asked around the street she found it, people there had called the PDSA a few times, and they'd basically just didn't want to know.
And as I said, the local rescue centers are so overtaxed - one was full and had a waiting list of over 250 cats. They might help with some vets bills, but with it being the christmas period, everythings understaffed or shut aswell.
With how underweight she is, with the matted fur and obvious worms, she's not in the best shape, but we should be able to get her back on track - I'll put up more pics tomorrow.
Though thank-you to the people who've donated so far - what we've got atm should cover the basics, like food, vitamins and a shave. Just things like vets, worming, etc to go...

That why you have to walk in and just leave it with them.
Not much they cn do if you leave it there

Picking up a stray when you can't care for isn't the best idea in the world.
Dropping it off at a shelter more than likely will end with it taking a free stay in the furnace.

Oh, that's good.
It was pretty horrifying when I first encountered a furnace at the back of an adoption agency. End of the line for many animals because people are irresponsible with their ancestors. Sad state of affairs.

Keep an eye on it, I once saved a cat in similar shape to find out that it actually had kittens in it as well...
Doesn't look that way and it seems to be in alright shape.

Happy Holidays to all, but I don't think allowing threads asking for money is generally a precedent we'd like to set.
