I do not own any FW books or models but I just saw the Tauros and am curious as to it's statline and uses? In the future I will probably get some IA books.

All I can say is it's in IA:8 IIRC. Dakka is not a replacement for rules after all. However you might have some luck on google.

IA1 (second edition), actually.

And yes, do not ask for rules here because that is a violation of GW's IP rights.

My bad sometimes google search results are misleading. Thanks for the correction.

It's not really very useful. It's a lot like a Sentinel: fragile, expensive, not all that well armed for its points. I guess you could use them if you're willing to settle for having Sentinels in your list, but I'd rather just take a far superior Vendetta or Vulture.

If you're running the Armored Battlegroup list where you're limited to a maximum of one Gunship Squadron then I could see it being useful, competing mostly with Scout Salamanders.

Do they have specific rules for the Elysians and DKoK (or Traitor Guard for that matter) in any of the Imperial Armour books? And do people accept stuff from these books in their regular 40K games?

Wow my bad hit enter too early. FW can be a touchy subject for some people. Some say its "opponents permission only" (but really, isn't everything like that?) and others believe its 100% official, no different than if I asked you to play with the vanilla IG codex.

99% of the time, people who have problems with forgeworld simply don't know what to expect from FW books and are afraid of imbalance. The best way to prevent this is to show your opponent the type of army you would like to play and how it works. Explain what weaknesses it has as well as it's strengths, and allow your opponent to see any rules in your list that he wishes. The more transparent you are, the more likely it will be fun for everyone.

I will play against forgeworld anytime someone asks, all they have to do is tell me what I'm up against and let me bring FW stuff too

Really, the Tauros was FW's take on the Warthog and other fast attack vehicles present in sci-fi and the contemporary world; it was an aesthetic niche to fill, but its rules are basically a slightly better armed Sentinel, and are fairly quick, but are still fragile as all hell.

As for Elysians and DKoK, both are considered slightly underpowered, though they're fun to play with and against, as they can do some funky stuff, like Elysians can deep strike everything in their army, but don't get tanks, while DKoK is basically an assault-based Guard army which used to have unique access to artillery, but now all Guard variants can take things like Thudd Guns and Heavy Mortars; their downside is higher costs and virtually no plasma gun access.

Traitor Guard also have their own rules, but I only skimmed them, and have not played them before, so I can't really say what they're like. We've got a guy locally who uses their models, but not their army rules, as FW only became "tourney legal" recently in the area.

Basically, FW should not be looked at as a source of more powerful options; for the most part, their armies are weaker, but they do cater to army styles and aesthetics you simply can't find easily in the base game, so it's worth a look after playing for a while and figuring out what you like, and seeing if FW offers an army list tailored to what you like.

I determined I rather liked tanks, and lo and behold, FW has the Armoured Company and all sorts of unique tank rules and cool models, I just wouldn't recommend jumping into a FW army on a whim; they tend to be expensive and rather unusual in their function.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.
