Hey Dakka, I recently started a new CSM army, and I'm a little confused on what I should do next with it purchase wise. Right now I have a sorcerer, 5 CSM, 20 cultists, a rhino, and 5 raptors that I can make into a 500 point list. What would be the best choices for me to make to bring that up to 1000 points?

I would say your next option would be a Heavy choice. Havocs are always fun with 4x Autocannons, or a Defiler.

I thought the Forgefiend looked good. Should I grab more troops as well? Or make the raptor squad bigger?

I would leave the raptor squad at 5, possible get for CSM. Forgefiend's are nice as well. I have not used one myself, but if I had one I would. I run 2x Defilers and a squad of 5x Havocs.

Defilers can get really expensive really quickly it seems. Are vindicators worth taking?

Haven't heard many people using Vindicators, more Land Raiders instead.
Defiler's aren't too bad, I just bring them as they are with a 3rd PF instead of Heavy Flamer. Mostly using Battle Cannon anyway.

Vindicators are worth taking, the decimator cannon is terribly powerful.

Just remember that they are not that survivable, and you have few units in your army. If you want to add one, consider adding more CSMs at the same time.

a heavy support choice
havoces with 4 autocannons or 4 lascannons(do not mix and match)
or
a forgefiend
you might want to think about adding in some additional CSM, with nice special weapons. if you want to go the forgefined route you will be wanting more rhinos. Havocs, maybe you dont need the rhinos.

I would leave the raptors at 5, with 2 melta guns. leaves room for awesome bikes.

On the question of Havocs how do people get the autocannons to equip four of them? Last I checked the GW Havocs only come with one autocannon guy...

Very nice! I only wish they came with the bayonet at the end like the GW one so they look more chaosy...
