Oh look I'm being made to look like I live under a overprotective government because six years ago someone from a university in middlesex said knives which have no use other than stabbing people should be banned. No less by an OP who is so in love with his supposed right to have ridiculously poor gun control in his country he needs to divert focus away from another massacre and make out the rest of the world to be stupidly conservative pushovers who walk around encased in bubble wrap because it is the law.

here's your meme back...

I use a 9" French chefs knife nearly daily and a 8 1/4" clip point butcher knife at least weekly. I somehow think your steak knife is incapable of fulfilling those roles. Otherwise my paring knife would see more use.

Doesn't matter if it's old, it's ridiculous. I thought it was a joke like the spaghetti tree.

What do you use it for? The first one. I don't own butcher's knife but probably should; I could see using that.

Obviously in a country where they ban the f word on free to air television to protect against kids swearing at them they get pretty tense about most things and just don't feel safe unless they have a nine inch knife in the kitchen.

I here the same old thing tossed around. Guns don't kill people/weapons don't kill people, people do.

Then why the hell would you make Guns readily available? If someone is out of control and can get access to a gun, he's gonna do a heck of a lot more damage than if he has a knife, or no weapon at all.

So to summarise: People with degrees sometimes say stupid things, and thanks to the internet they are immortalised for people to point at and laugh for all eternity.

Moving on.
