I just picked up a Wii for my son. While Skylanders is actually kind of fun, I'd like something to play when he's not around. I remember Dead Rising was on the Wii, to mixed reviews. And I saw one or two CoD games on the Wii as well. Any suggestions for a non-cartoonish game with some challenge?

No more heroes comes to mind. Also Mad World.

Yep, No More Heroes 1 and 2 are excellent, and so is Madworld. Three of the best games on the Wii, and very adult.

Monster Hunter Tri is also pretty good. It's not "adult" in the way that NMH or Madworld are, but is certainly something an adult can enjoy.

Monster Hunter Tri was one of the games that made me buy a Wii. The next Monster Hunter will make me buy a Wii U.

There is Resident Evil 4 and 5 on the Wii. They are fun. Very gory with lots of shooting and the occasional beheading.

I'd avoid Wii's dead rising unless you have nothing else you can get it on. It's a nice game, but had to be gutted to work there properly.

Resident Evil 4 and the Resident Evil remake are both top notch games. I think Umbrella Chronicles is an on-rails shooter if that takes your fancy.

House of the dead, it's almost an exact copy of the arcade machine games.

When I saw the title I was worried this would be something very different!

Anyway, I don't have a Wii, although I might pick one up if they're cheap, but Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is supposed to be awesome. Metroid: Other M got mixed reviews, so I don't know about that.

The Conduit looked pretty good.

Battalion Wars has very stylized graphics, but the action and strategy are anything but kiddie. It is an interesting combination of RTS and third-person shooter.

I've got both Other M and the Metroid Primes on the Wii. The 3 Prime games are all excellent FPSers.

Other M and its "side scroller with a twist" game style was interesting. It was definately lacking something though. Was still a solid game when all said and done.

I second House of the Dead, and Super Smash Brothers as well. I'd rather suggest Melee, but Brawl will do in a pinch.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Due to work, I can usually only ship any sales or trades out on Saturday morning. Please trade/purchase with this in mind.

Brawl is only good if you mod it to become Project M. Otherwise, it's just a waste of money.

Wait, you mean you play Brawl as a solo game? Hmm interesting

On the topic of The Other M, I think it is not the gameplay that people dont like, but the "recton/remake" of Samus' origin story. Though I havent played it myself so go figure

I heard really good things about Conduit. Wish that I had bought it myself but I never invested much into the console overall.

The Conduit is very generic and nothing special by any means. If you're absolutely starved for a shooter, it's okay, but in this market, there's an abundance of far better shooters out there.

Next to No More Heroes, Madworld and Metroid, Mario.
What? It's Mario. Mario is manly and an adult.

Oh also I suppose Fire Emblem is good if you like turn based strategies

However the one on the Wii is a sequel to the one on the Gamecube so you might want to get that one to understand the storyline
