Came up with this list and have been mulling over starting it as a new years army. Let me know if you think there are any improvements to be made.

HQ
- CCS - 4x Flamer, Power Sword, mounted in a Chimera, 135pts

Troops
- Vets - 3x Melta-guns, a Powerfist, Chimera w/ Heavy Flamer, Shotguns 170pts
- Vets - (same as above) 170pts

Heavy
- Leman Russ - Heavy bolter sponsons 170pts
- Leman Russ - Heavy bolter sponsons170pts
- Leman Russ Vanquisher - Heavy bolter sponsons 175pts

10 points to spare on something or other.

My own concerns with this list is perhaps the second vet squad should be differently equipped. Perhaps with plasma's. In any case this seems a fairly robust list (to me) but i just want to see what the general opinion is.

CCS' are better off with something that takes advantage of their BS4 - either Melta Guns or Plasma Guns.

Vanquishers are pretty underwhelming overall...maybe a Demolisher would be better here?

Will definitely consider changing the vanquisher for a demolisher. No harm in more pie!

For the CCS, I suppose with a bit of juggling i could get 4xplasma's, but against squishier armies I'd prefer having a squad that can gobble up a sizable lump of the army in a manner most orc or nid generals wouldn't expect.

Agreed, demolisher with multimelta sponsons any day over a vanquisher. For something thats meant to be dedicated anti tank its rather mediocre at it and then useless for anything else. To finance that you could drop the HB sponsons on the LRBT as they will be snapfiring all the time so have limited effect. I'd also recommend dropping the power fist in the vets, especially since they're in a chimera. Also drop power sword on CCS, maybe add in a master of the fleet incase enemies use reserves instead?

Right, This is a revised list based on what you guys have said. As it stands I've got 40 Points left over, so i might give the Powerfists and Power sword back as a sort of insurance policy so I can do some damage if I do get charged. Unless you know something I can spend that 40 points on.
