Hey Dakka,

I really wanna do a beastmen army, but using all werewolves. Problem is, Im unsure where to find some good ones!

So far I know of...
mantic Werewolves coming out in march
Warp wolves from Hordes
Reaper metal werewolves

Any others out there? 28mm. Im in need of werewolves that can be classified as infantry. (used in place of gors)

The best werewolves available were Rackham's Confrontation Wolfen line, and I've seen many 40-50mm monstrous infantry and monsters represented by them in warhammer armies. Problem: they aren't as small as you'd like, nor are they available any longer

I'm actually pretty unsure of where you'd get weres to fit on 25mm bases. You could probably cull one or two from just about any fantasy-horror line, but most of them are 40mm (aka minotaur) sized - the FW skinwolves, for example. You'd get a pretty ragtag looking army pulling together so many different sculpts, but it could be a cool effect in the end? Hadn't heard about Mantic's pups, that might do it if you want more cohesion (and ease of purchase ).

For your minotaurs I highly reccomend the FW skinwolves. The models are awsome.

Sadly the Boss is correct in that most Werewolf models are going to be MI sized. It'll be tough to find suitable mansized werewolves.

Are werewolves aligned with chaos in fantasy? I finally got a chance to read gotrek and felix and there's a story involving them, but they seem more neutral than evil.

They are caused by Chaos's effect but they arn't aligned with them persay. Of course they will be more inclined to fight along with Chaos rather than against it.

Ah ok. It was also interesting to learn about how the female beastmen weren't just frothing at the mouth and indulging in violence 24/7.

Anyways, yeah a children of ulric army would be pretty cool to see on the tabletop, but every werewolf figure I've ever seen was big. Perhaps you could have feral humans? Instead of the minotaurs use werewolf models?

There are a huuuuuge number of barbarian / viking models out there, in plastic as well as pewter, from GeeDub and well beyond, that could serve as your gors. With the old beast book my brother ran a 'barbarian horde' army right along those lines - lots of half-naked barbarians supported by chariots (crewed by more barbarians) and wolfen-as-minotaurs

That actually sounds like beastmen except to my knowledge beastmen are chaos to an extent. They fight with warriors of chaos and possibly daemons but they prefer not to fight alongside warriors at the very least. They do hate humans after all if i remember correctly.

As far as the werewolf suggestion goes 'warhammer forge' might have something you're looking for. I think they were 'skin wolves' or something. They're very grotesque werewolf monstrosities that are formed from the bodies or something of the previous human before transformation. Forgeworld (the main site of with the sub-section 'warhammer forge') makes some interesting and odd stuff. Their fantasy stuff is super odd.

Beastmen are a little more specific. They were basically created by Slannesh IIRC(although the race does worship all 4 gods)

There was basically a giant party involving humans and animals and naughty bits. Its was all warped by chaos and in the span of a week or so there were thousands and thousands of Beastmen born(which in turn gave birth to more beastmen as the party continued)

And that one giant orgy created the first beastmen.

So basically 40k Eldar but instead humans+animals with a more interesting result.

So you're telling me the beastmen were created through bestiality? That thought is incredibly disgusting to me.

Yeah, Warhammer fluff was/is much more adult than 40k is. They use the R-word

What r*pe? If you say yes i'll be fairly shocked. I mean this is a game 12 year olds play. Then again a lot of slaaneshi daemons have boobs or one boob.

Fimir come from the old guard from the first editions of fantasy, where is was very dark along with humerous. It wasn't then made for 12 year olds, and the fluff reflected it. Yes, Fimir would raid human towns for females and do the r-word thing. Because female Fimir are barren, and Fimir children from any species end up as pure Fimir.

Yes indeed. Thats how Fimir reproduce. Beastmen do too, but they don't require human females.

Also, I just reread what I posted and my comment about it being 'also humorous' kind of made me sound like a dick regarding the posts subject matter. I didn't mean to - the old fluff had dark elements and humorous elements. The Fimir were one of the dark elements.

Honestly dude i think we all knew what you meant. I dunno if i can speak for everybody else but we're not a bunch of easily offended d-bags that twist and turn any sentence to mean something else. I suppose there's always misinterpretation but still some people on the internet really get to me. Some people just can't relax or something. Sorry if that came off as a rant.

Anyway that beastmen orgy is kind of upsetting to think about. I mean were they born instantly? How is that even possible? Because Chaos! I guess that answer is the only one needed. Meh but then there i go trying to rationalize fantasy. I'm stupid for that . I do find it odd somebody would keep commiting bestiality orgies if beastmen were shooting out of animals/people at a rate of 1 per every couple seconds. If nothing else it'd make the orgy hard to do if whatever you were tapping kept shooting a beastmen out their crotch every couple seconds. At the very least it wouldn't be comfortable. I mean if they go head-first their horns go directly into your crotch . Though i suppose they could be beastmen babies (no horns yet). Horns into the crotch would really hurt though. Ouch.

Yup, thats pretty much what happened. Gestation happened within seconds and the offspring themselves rapidly reached adult size to continue to process. Like Bacteria.

I already have and i'm thankful you said this believe it or not. I'm thankful because i thought maybe it was my imagination they were bad and that i'm going crazy or am bad myself (i am to an extent but not that bad). It seems like a lot of the worse people on this forum are there. Meh who knows.
