Ok, well I hope that the title has drawn in some helpful dakka members!

I recently got VERY interested in Firestorm armada. The game looks like a ton of fun, is affordable to start up, and even more so to expand.

I have several issues that I would like a bit of guidance on. The average income of the local area (approx 70k people) is US $35,000. The local gaming scene is reasonably admirable for the population.
My FLGS (we have no gw etc...) is run by a great fella who would LOVE to get more people in his store (obviously for monitary reasons) and see the miniature hobby grow locally. His resources are, however, extremely limited due to pace of business, cost of start up, lack of support from his distributor etc...

This all being the case, I have decided to stand up a gaming club named after his store. The idea is to have a roster of all club members, along with the games (be they 40k, board games, card games etc) that the clubbers play. This way when joe gamer walks in and sees the stores great inventory and goes to pass up a purchase because "noone plays this stuff here " he/she will see a list of friendly faces along side the games played etc... leading to a growth in the local gaming scene, but also to the FLGS sales. I want the club to be able to purchase property of the store, for the store. This stuff will be campaign books terrain pieces etc... usable by the club and for tournies etc.

Please dakka, gimme some more ideas I can use to get my FLG store owner support from his supplier (so he can, in turn, actually support the games like FSA and Warmahordes), more business, and me more play mateserrr ..... ummm more club members....

When your wife suggests roleplay as a result of your table top gaming... life just seems right

I took my wife thru the BRB for fantasy and 40k, the first thing she said was "AWESOME"... codex: Chaos Daemons Nurgle..... to all those who says God aint real....

Generally supplies and distributers don't provide support for retailers i.e prize support. If your looking to get prize support for events then go directly to the manufactorers of the games and accessories.

Interesting thread.

I live in a smaller town (26K), with similar income demos. We have a small FLGS with a very limited stock. Most of the gamers are CCG, and I would like to get them into other game types.

Sadly, I don"t have much advice other than the following. Get any games you want to play, have two forces ready to go, and get ready to play a LOT of demo games.

It can be tricky to get casual players to move from just showing up at the FLGS to play, into payign a small fee to be part of a formal club. What incnetive is there for the gamers to join?
