Anyone else notice that the Dark Angels preorder super package deals aren't deals at all, but are exactly on price point to the cent? I was contemplating getting one thinking I'd save a few bucks and ends up they're just "convenience" bundles and not an actual deal of any sort.

Am I the only one bothered by this?

They did the same thing with the Chaos bundles for their release. Kind of sad, really. If it was a deal, maybe I'd buy from them.

Yea that's the thing, I'm plotting how to budget my next few months in anticipation for the Tau release. I'm was going to save up money and then buy a bundle on preorder that included the new codex, expecting a little bit of a deal, and ends up there's no deal to be had.. which is kinda depressing.

Also the price hike is not looking good at all.. especially considering at worst there's probably an extra sprue per box (which is definitely not worth $10-20 more per unit).

I am pre ordering all of my Dark Angels on Ebay. That seems to be the only way to get a good deal from Games-Workshop anymore.

That's what I was considering.. I have it in really good with some Ebay buyers so I'm hoping some of them run some deals on it.

I don't, but this was the first time I considered it if the bundle price was right.

Sounds like standard GW to me anymore. So it doesn't bother me. I broke down in a moment of weakness and ordered the CSM preorder bundle. Then the other plastics I wanted I bought at a discount through my preferred online discount vendor...

Anyone have a decent source for discounted finecast kits? My usual place doesn't carry any of the finecast pieces and I'd like to not have to order direct from GW and give them the full retail price.

It's just a way to someone to order everything with a click of the button. I really don't understand what kind of person would drop $550 instantly like that rather then trying to make their own army or using cheaper online sources.

Think of all the cases of carpal tunnel GW is preventing with this reduction in mouse clicks. We should be applauding them really...

By saving a whole ten clicks at worst

Yea.. just kinda sucks, I really miss those old apocalypse box kits that came with tons of stuff at a nice little reduction of price. If they did those for "launch bundles" I'd buy them by the truckload.

Oh, thank god. I thought I was missing out on a deal for my Deathwin Assault army, but no.

This isn't just for DA, this is a general preorder bundle discussion. It kinda expands past there into CSM and onwards for whatever comes out.
