This was a great purchase. Seller was very communicative. Everything about this is win. Might buy another.

I approve of this too!

Just make sure you follow where you put the paint brush holes or else's your mess it all up!

That is a good point, I need to add that to the instructions.

Thanks for all of the interest in these paint racks! Also, thanks to those of you that have posted pictures of the assembled paint racks at various locations, including this thread.

I have a few more available at the store.

I have gotten a great response to the paint racks. Now I am beginning to venture out into other areas. Here is a preview of what I am thinking about next.

That's very cool. Any chance you might look into Old style houses, stuff more for steam punk ect?

I'm still waiting on a stadium style rack that will fit my vallejo bottles. Ideally I'd like one that I could put in a box to transport then remove to paint any thoughts on a commission for one? Pm me if you would be interested. I'll get you the details and dimensions.

Absolutely, I just have to start somewhere. In fact, the old style houses would probably have been an easier starting point!

I will have to look into how to make a believable steam punk house out of flat material. I may have to include some tubes and wires and such to pull that one off.

A pretty common trick to ID'ing paints is to paint the tip of the cap. I'm guessing that you can do the same for the bottom.

I've always heard that you should dry out paint brushes *brush side down* to prevent h2o from entering the ferrule and weakening the glue. I would *really* like to see an eye-dropper holder with a five-brush attachment that will hold the brushes brush-side down. I have W&N Series 7 brushes and the middle of the brush is wider than the ends, so I guess it's not impossible. I use tacky stuff and alligator clips, myself, to hold brushes down!

I wouldn't worry about tubes and stuff like that, Just make it look old school, maybe with some cogs to attach to the sides. People can add tubing if they want. I know me personaly I would just go and get hollow plasticard or GS and use it to add detail.

I will make that my next priority. Not sure about the one that can be packed up in a box for transport (which is a cool idea by the way), but I can at least get a stationary one worked out.
I've always heard that you should dry out paint brushes *brush side down* to prevent h2o from entering the ferrule and weakening the glue.

I haven't heard that before, but it does make some sense. I will make this my second priority. I should be able to come up with a small drying rack, as opposed to the larger storage rack.

That is a good idea - gives me an idea for a project.

Someone else had the same problem. I have since posted digital instructions on Etsy, but maybe it is time to start including printed instructions in the box. I am really trying to keep costs down, but printed instructions shouldn't take too much of a bite out of the profit margin. Or, maybe a better idea would be to make it not possible to get the shelves in the wrong order in the first place by making them with different patterns for the tabs!

Hi Iron!

Been enjoying these posts. And yeah, if the shelves can accidentally be put in backwards I'd suggest making the left/right/front/back tabs they fit in all slightly different or in a pattern different so that really only one fitting is possible without it being forced. Rectangle/square/circle slots, that sort of thing, if possible!

Liking the terrain, wondering are you planning on just doing marine/gothic ruins? One thing I've noticed is that there's lots of good pre-fab terrain items for users of the human/chaos/eldar out there, and even some tyranid, but the Tau recieve little love. And they have such a unique style with their rounded/domed enclaves.. Dunno perhaps it might be fun to style some based on the external designs of the Drone Sentry Turrents found on Forgeworld? Would certainly be awesome to have some Tau Ruins/broken open buildings to spice up life in fights, and I'd certainly buy one or two to bring with me to matches.

I just started with the gothic style because it is more angular, and therefore easier for me to figure out. I do plan on branching out though. Tau will be tough because of the domes that appear in their motif. It will give me something to think about though. I might have to consider some other methods than laser cutting everything. I am all for expanding my palate!

I have been working this evening. I have been working on the concept for a dropper style stadium rack. I think it is ready to test cut this week, and see how well it goes together.

As a thought from someone who almost put one together wrong before logic set in, what about somehow keying the nuts/bolts at different sizes so that it's basically impossible to install them in the wrong spots?

I think that is what I am going to do, make the screw holes and tabs only line up for the shelf that is supposed to go in that spot.

I have also had a chance to cut out the newest pieces. These aren't ready for prime time just yet, but they are close. I just need to make a few tweaks and we will have two new products to offer!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have paint racks available on Etsy if you need one.

I am still working on the stadium style dropper bottle rack. It works, but I think it needs to be a little sturdier before going for sale. Also, I have the first terrain piece ready to go, but I wanted to paint up a sample before posting it on the shop.

Thanks.

Just ordered a rack from you on Etsy. Can't wait! This seems to be a far better value than any alternative I have seen. I showed a few friends the pictures and they were interested as well, so if I'm happy with mine you should be seeing a couple more orders

I still don't have the stadium style rack for droppers quite ready yet. I really want to get this one ready but I am traveling over the Easter break and won't be able to work on it until Tuesday. It just isn't sturdy enough for me yet.

Soon ...

I requested a stand-up rack for the new Badger Minitaire bottles. I've got a really small workspace and the stand-up rack would be ideal since it has a small footprint. Hopefully, she will get those racks up soon and I can get my workspace organized!

I am still having trouble finding any of these paints to buy around here. I will order a bottle from Amazon and go from there.

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but I am a guy. Nonetheless, I should be able to get one of these type racks worked up in the near future. I am hoping to release a few new racks for the summer, including the long anticipated stadium style dropper bottle rack - I really need to get some better names for these things!

Yeah those paints are in high demand. Hard to find. I got lucky when I got mine.

Sorry, the name threw me bro. Looking forward to see what you come out with.
