Subject: Skirmish game with the best campaign progression system?

Hey all,
Looking for a small skirmish game that features a strong campaign/experience/rpg element.
Important: tight rules, games play in < 2hrs, good campaign system as mentioned
Not Important: genre (scifi/fantasy/etc), miniatures support
We've got a few core players, but a system that also has a decent amount of players/support would be nice too. Though that's probably very regional...
Any recommendations? I was thinking of trying out Mordheim, but that's only because I've already heard of it. Any better options?

May want to try "Corehiem" [sp?] as well, supposed to be more balanced? You can google it I think.

We've gotten a lot of praise for Brushfire's campaign system.

If you go with Mordheim, definitely go with Coreheim. It' just fixes a few of the issues.
For figures, Reaper has a great selection and you can get GW plastics as single figures off of eBay if you want them.

The new Paradiso book for Infinity - honestly, best campaign system I have ever read bar none.
You can download the main rules for free, and I believe the campaign rules also (will need to check!)

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor. |

I'd have to vote Infinity by a long shot. The game is fantastic and the campaign takes it to a whole new level.
The rules are free hiwever the campaign is not out for free yet. I'd highly suggest picking up the campaign paradisio if only for he artwork/fluff.

Some good ideas, thanks. I'd never heard of coreheim.
That Infinity campaign system sounds interesting too, I've always liked the models. Has it been released yet? I'll have to flip through at my FLGS.
Anyone played Empire of the Dead? Has that recommended as well...
