Well after the last few posts here in the wonderful world of Dave, and seeing the regal lounge and piano, the beatles refrences and bookshelf with actual books on it, I now cannot stop imagining Dave looking just like the Zulu guy he painted up for his tank! :-) sitting properly smoking a pipe and gazing at his possesions whilst whispering "yes,.... It just came to me in a moment of clarity. It's the only thing I can think of (read, remember) from fallout that had that kind of construction and it looks a similar size to the car.

I thought you was building some kind of food tray at first no it looks great and the lights to light up the build board is a really cool touch.

Points to LDD for noticing the lights! I dug through all kinds of bitz boxes to find the perfect old-looking shade bitz, only found 2, so the third light just has wires hanging out
I'm not even sure what they are, some 1/35 bitz from sprues.


I'm afraid that the cracked asphalt surface may take as long to do as the car did

Speaking of the Corvega Dealership in-game, did you know the only useful things in that building are 9 shotgun shells and 1 bobby pin?

Yes, they did bring that something extra to it, that is the usual type of detail that is over looked but when done makes all the difference.

The asphalt looks great, but using the you beam for curb was a stroke of genius.

The car looks different again now, its turned more blue.

Yeah, it never stopped me searching every square inch of that building convinced I'd missed something.

that billboard is freaking awesome and so much cooler than a showroom scene!!! i am eager to see how you will use the white embossed plasticcard sheats and how you cope with those angular cracks inbetween them... the base of the billboard already looks *loss for words...*

Thanks Vik, but I glued those panels in wonky on purpose! so that the when the paper was soaked in PVA it would hopefully conform to those panel lines

Oh you mean the pavement? I'm not sure about that, completely experimental at this point. I may yet smear on spackle or plaster on top, not sure.
I'd like to recreate this type of eroded pavement chunks, but it's a long shot, the pattern is very random, yet somehow uniform.



To me, the cracks seem like they almost belong, as if it's the order they originally laid the blacktop.

I mean come on Dave that looks absolutely amazingly cool! i'm guessing the Taurade billboard on Terragenesis and the fallout ones in your game blended the inspiration? I was originally going to suggest scafolding for a rock concert stage but you work too freakin' fast for me to follow sometimes! sheesh man let me catch up!

do you know that moment when you see something that is so good looking you are just able to utter hushed swear words... well this happened to me seeing the billboard with the converga "mural"...

but i agree... at least one more wash... needs to look more stained... it atm looks brighter than ingame... ingame graphics always left me with this sticky carpet feeling...the need to have my hands washed from all the filth you accidently touched and so on...
