as a younger vet, i feel i should chime in on this also...i may not have beent his best soldier but i was treated ok by the va for about 6 months then it went to the crapper. techinally im 60 percent disabled but they are only paying me for 40%.

my school funds were cut and i didnt get my post 911 gi bill becuase of my discharge same with my reg gi bill. didnt get a dishonorable but didnt get an honorable. and what really sucks is i live near a military installation so employers just see black and white. there is no fine line.

i do agree with you fellas that what is happening sucks and i dont agree with what is going on but it happens...yes there needs to be a revolution.

no it wont happen too many agendas and too many folks with other motivations.

TLDR:government sucks alot...soldiers usally get shafted and turn out worse ofr wear.

Ok, so I'm playing through the game "The Last of Us" on PS3 and OMG....it's like a Linear Fallout story, and the decrepit building ruins are amazingly grimy!

I have my ps3 with me and that game as well, but I forgot my controllers at home. Guess I will never finish it.

What surprises me is the way America treats their soldiers... I would have expected this from banana republics or the old Soviets...I thought America took great stock on their bleeding GIs...something seriously rotten in the state of Washington...

A couple weeks ago we had a Parade next to our house. There were multiple cars of veterans from he battle of the Buldge. The parade was moving slow enough where I stepped out and went up to the cars to thank them for their service. They were all flabbergasted, its been a while since they've been given the respect they deserve. I don't do it often, but when the odd circumstances hit where. See a vet, and have the freeing to thank them, every one of them has been excited to get a handshake and a moment of time.

These are guys who gave up their time, friends, loved ones, and are getting pushed aside by the government as numbers now. The government doesn't see them as people, only as a source of money. Like social security, here's tons of money in there, lets take it to fund xyz because I get a kickback from them.

I think it also has to o with he disconnect our government employees have. The bi guys no the ones pushing paper. They couldn't tell you he price of gas, cost of a gallon of milk, or what a doctors visit costs. They just slide that government credit card in, and let h tax payers deal with it.

A lot of guys I know, dress in civvies instead of uniform when traveling, because those moments where people thank them get awkward at times. I can understand that, sometimes when going from airport to airport, you just want some privacy and quiet and anonymity.

Well I only ever went home in uniform back then when doing service...I then lived in a part of town where uniforms could very well guarante you a beating... And no joking... When I was in the bus and so on, everybody kept looking at me quite surprised...as if, me being in uniform=end of times...well I got home unscathed...but I learned a lesson that day...never be that late for train to not change before...

Must say i'm glad us soldiers here only do peace-keeping tasks (in theory )
Folks here accept our uniforms, but the government begins to look more and more like your american government... No respect anymore for the guys they send to their deaths... Most guys I served with came back from Sarajevo broken mentally. Sure, there were army shrinks available, but they mostly told ya to man up. PTSS was something ya didn't talk about. Only after several (lots) commited suicide did they realise that the help for those coming back was seriously lacking.

As for benefits... well... I'm glad I have a decent job in healthcare now. My pension would probably suck at 68 otherwise. If they keep it at 68 that is... I fear i'll still be working at 75 if our good ol dutch government keeps this crap up...
So for short... governments suck everywhere... I think i'll be running for dictatorship in a couple of years... Vote for me all dutch gamers!

Well, at least we can treat our own plastic space soldiers with better decency and respect than our Ivory Tower Governments.

Now it may seem harsh, but if the entirety of politicians had to serve, and live as their constituents instead of the French Nobility just before the French Revolution we may have folks in charge with better understanding of the people. And of course this always would change their mind set

I hav to get the license changed to WV before they will let me buy a shot-gun here. Found a decent tactical one that was short enough for in house use just in case, will need trigger lock though due to 7yr old in the house.

Did the pork prove difficult to catch?

This one was My Grandfather's Browning A-5 Semi-Auto 12 Gage. My cousin inherited it and he needs the money.

Burgers didn't turn out so well, recipe calle for Worcestershire sauce and onion soup mix..JUst didn't taste right. I haven't failed dinner like this before!

These Woodland Scenics Resin kits are MUCH MUCH MUCH easier to work with than the plastic DPM panels.

They make all kinds of awesome-looking storefront parts in HO scale, but none in O scale.

Got to say I am with you all the way, that is a very beautiful building, Do you get actual windows? And you know you will have to do a really bang up job on the interior of that ground floor. Can we get mannequin's to scale? wearing boiler suits in different colours, and a nice skimpy number in black?.........sorry wondering off there a moment.
