I hope you like miniatures

However right now they only have renders so curious to see the final product

Wondering if they'll also make their limit deals available for everyone later (I assume those are early birds?)

Also for $700 they'll make a miniature for you, obviously they took a humorous route with it (wait are they err....serious?)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1547086392/agnostic-giraffe-miniatures?ref=category

High end artsy extremely detailed fantasy/satirical miniatures for use in tabletop wargaming and RPG.

We're in the midsts of starting up an independent gaming/miniatures studio, and need a little help getting our sculptures printed. We have the long term goal of establishing a game universe around the models, but for now we're making models generally accessible to a variety of pre existing fantasy universes/general role playing games. ARMORCAST has been chosen as our caster and packaging team. We'll be packaging the models in nice fancy boxes through them. Check them out here: http://www.armorcast.com/

Small Tier:

Sorcerer

Medium Tier:

Plains Beast

Crocodile Mount

Kumag'thra (Hey this could look like a Squig... )

Large tier:

Leviathan Zombie Vulture (~4.0" in height including base)

Fungus Dweller (~3.5" in height to top of highest mushroom)

We have LOTS and lots of other models ready to be made. But the casting, packaging and distribution process is expensive. We need $500 for every new model to be put into production. Upon start up, for every $500 exceeding our $3000 goal, we will add a new model to the bundle!

i kinda like some of the bigger beasties, but the sorcerer in particular stands out as being perportioned in a way i personally find esthetically unpleasing

There is something VERY wrong with that sorceror....

Some nice ideas there though

The Sorcerer's stance is weird. His knees are too close together. Aside from that the upper body is a cool design and I especially like the Squig

I wish you the best of luck, but you need to improve your design skills and silhouettes.

All of those sculpts look like all the other generic zbrush stuff that comes out. Blobby detail, poor forms, lack of good plane changes. For goodness sake, use the pinch, and flatten tools sometime. Get that move tool out and push those silhouettes to be more interesting!

I like the ideas behind your minis, just make sure you're living up to the "artsy" part of your goals, and not just push pulling with zbrush until something works.

Meh. Not feeling any of these, tbh. The fantasy market is crowded, right now, and a lot of those that are already out there are substantially better than these, so I honestly can't see why I'd want to punt on the KS.

I had a different reaction- these are cool, but I wish I'd heard of the company!

I think the Plains Beast would make a great alternate Gorm model for Kingdom Death players

Might consider a small pledge...

I think the name is a little odd, did see this but wont be supporting it. There is just something off about the proportions that I don't find appealing.

I am intrigued and putting in the $15 for the familiars. They put out a little pic of their concepts. One of them really is quite cute.

That mushroom familiar may get the $15 out of me . I'm a sucker for mushroom creatures (fungiens got me in the Imbrian Arts KS).

It'd just be a token pledge, but I'm sure every bit helps, particularly for the exposure additional backers brings.

Anatomy? Posing? Consistent detail? What are those?

Agnostic Giraffe has no idea...

I normally try to not be so harsh with criticism, but I give up on this. Just like the Corpsehammer gent, these folks should really have shown their "sculpts" to someone other than their close family and friends.

There is a core of good ideas here, but the results are terrible.

Ugh.

Edit:
They are funded. I'm astounded. Lol.

Can't wait for the minis to show up in hand...

Avert your eyes, we now have a Mr. Potato Head "Help I ran into a grandfather clock" Sorcerer!

Lion turtle looks kind of cool, though I dont know why you would want to actually combine those 2....

As soon as the $3150 is reached, we'll be adding the "A Clockwork Sorcerer" model to the line up (small tier)!

The first LARGE category monster to be unlocked will be, rolling in once the $3500 mark is reach, GARGANTUAN LION TURTLE.

This is just a rough piece of concept art, the final model will differ and pose and shell design. It'll be an improvement, trust me.

At the $3300 mark, a new medium tier model will also be released. We're still unsure which model will be chosen out of our bank of concepts and sketches. If current and prospective pledgers would like to take it to a vote, we'd be thrilled to let the community choose.

Now you see a lion turtle could be fine, but that art tells me nothing other than someone enjoys scribble art. I mean seriously....

Still the idea is nice, though im hoping for something more like the lionturtle from avatar

I almost slapped down my $200 but then I noticed upon rereading that they are going to be cast by Armorcast.

A fair while ago I myself noticed some casting issues and there was a post on Dakka about it. Also, with the change over there was timely delivery issues and customer service issues.

Have they been resolved? If not, may not be the best caster for a KS.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

I put in $15 for the Familiars bundle. It's already 7 models with the kickstarter basically at $3650. Too cute to pass up

They've basically been adding a familiar and one small, medium, or large model for each $150 or so past $3000. I can't imagine they'll be able to keep up that pace for long, though.

They're a real unknown, so there's no way I'd go in for a large amount, but I don't mind putting in a small pledge like this.

The physical prototype came out looking a lot better then the art. He also added some tiers that get the larger models cheaper using "credits".

Looks decent enough I guess (wait why am I reminded of super dungeon explorer)

However this project has been doing a bit bad for the past few weeks, some days it has lost a few hundred dollars. I think at one point it was at 7k, then went all the way down to 5.9k. It seems to have stabilized at 6k

Perhaps some of the minis are just too out there. Like the Chicken God, which is just a naked chicken

There is definitely a "What on earth would I do with this?" factor in some of the minis. The top rank of that of course has to be the potato you mentioned above (though I'm actually convinced it is intended as a visual pun on the movie A Clockwork Orange). Still I imagine that one would be fun to paint.

Seriously though some of the sculpts seem hit and miss, the ones for the plains beast and lion turtle seem fine, and the little bug familiar looks a bit like a headcrab i guess, but god damn some of these are a bit....odd. And not always ina good way as was noted with Mr.Potatohead.
