Does anyone out there (specifically the Italian players) know anything about the colour schemes of Italian flamethrowers? From the few pics I have seen the bottles seem to be a dull green but the soldiers themselves are wearing some kind of protective clothing. They dont have the typical puttees and there is some kind of face mask. Anyone got any ideas?

The pictures of guys in protective clothing are generally posed shots...

In the field, I suspect it was rarely worn.

Certainly this guy at Marsa Matruk in 1942 seems dressed normally;

Though protective gloves were worn;

The Italians used 5 different models of flamethrower in WW2, so as to colour the normal would have been the Italian green as used on helmets in Europe. A kinda almost bottle green. However I have seen some in North Africa over painted in sand yellow.

Hope thats of use, Italians aint really my field.
