I'd expect a few people in the UK to start receiving orders around Thanksgiving, but nowhere overseas.

I say! I say sir! Don't you dare come with your logic and somesuch about reasonable shipping dates and dash our unrealistic plans for a pointless American holiday!

You Brits and your "logic." Pish posh I say! PISH POSH AND POPPYCOCK!

You sir have caused my mustache to become unkempt in a much displeasing way.

Sweet, so it looks like we might be getting our Deadzone shipments before Thanksgiving? That's great news. Hell, before Christmas even is great news. I think Highlord Tamburlaine and I are going to have to have some large scale gaming sessions over the holidays this year.

Well, as long as I get it by Christmas.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I don't follow mantic too closely. The reb stuff looks great; are they going to be available separately? or do i have to get the game 'cause I'm not really interested in the orcs and other stuff.. hmm, maybe the terrain. Is that going to be available separate as well? : )

It'll all be available separately next February for the retail release.

Kickstarter backers get their stuff shipped late November.

There will also be a limited 5000 copies of just the boxed game released to retail stores for December. Then, that's it until Feb 2014 for the retail release.

I was a bit hesitant about this KS because while Mantic have done some good models...others...I haven't liked.

However, the stuff for DZ has been consistently good. Just hope the Asterians keep the standard up (or, you know, exceed it)

Any news of the concept art for the Enforcer biker/sniper yet? Or when the second survey is coming out?

based on what's been happening with Dreadball (all waves so far) a lot of the KS backers will not have their stuff sent (or not have it in hand) until after the retailers have got theirs on the shelves

something to be aware of if it's going to bother you

Well, at the very least backers will get their Rebs, Marauders and all the other non core box wave 1 stuff (everything in Strike Team, lots of stuff has been moved up from wave 2 to wave 1) 3 months or more before retail.

So, stuff like the hard plastic zombies will be in there, and backers will go nuts if they're as bad as the men-at-arms.

The core game boxes are already produced, packed and on a boat.

Second survey won't be for a long while, probably not until a month or 2 before the second and final shipment is ready to go out (I'd guess February).

Oh absolutely, they are doing really well there

and they're one of the very few companies that hit their KS shipping estimates

but they do seem to be taking their eye off ball when it comes to that final detail, and (surprisingly for mantic) their communication at the end has not been great..... Probably too busy with Mars Attacks

They could do with some more updates. Like some WIP 2nd wave Deadzone sculpts. Surely they've started on them by now? Or how about pics of all the terrain sprues, if the retail box is on the boat they're obviously done.

Do we have a list of exact contents for the retail release? I know it is the Plague and Enforcer factions but apart from that what is in the box?

Also have we had confirmation of the late November release to backers? I have just seen a number of conflicting reports of late November but also December. I assume this may just be Mantic covering themselves for any last minute issues/delays.

It'll all ship out starting last week of November. As to when shipping will finish, it might be 2-3 weeks after it starts.

Orders to distributors will be dead easy. Stick 1000 Deadzone boxes in a crate, send to distributor, done, and warehouse space freed up.

Backer orders will need to be hand-picked and packed which takes longer, and will have extra parts which may arrive later So, that's why you sometimes end up with the stuff on retail shelves first.

Exact contents of retail release (plus rulebook):

Of course, KS backers will be getting more than that, the whole contents of strike team and possibly some other extras (as well as double the terrain in that pic). Secret Weapon Deadzone board is on track to be delivered in December, too.

Cheers Scarlet, that "basic" box looks pretty sweet in itself. I have never been fussed by retailers getting their stuff a bit early. As you say backers orders are a bit more complex so rightfully take a bit more time. I did the 150 buck pledge myself, aim to spend a lot more in the second survey though. I am usually more "fantasy" centric but Deadzone has got me excited.

Also bear in mind that there was a custom "retailers only" pledge level. As SS says, retail boxes would be easier to pack and ship so I wouldn't be at all surprised if those retailer only pledges were the first ones out the door.

Looks like they included at least a partial accessory sprue. Was that on the list before? Can't remember. Nice of them. They used those same barrels/crates in the Mars Attacks gameplay video too.

Hmm...that's actually good as I can rebuild my gaming budget. i'm considering picking up another Striker and one of the Secret Weapon boards if I can at that point.

Damn you, Mantic!

Though I will say that this will be the last test for me and Mantic with there 'restic'. I'm in for the first four factions (can't remember the pledge level name lol!). Have already made deals to be trading out the Rebs and Marauders for Enforcers and Plague. I've had no problems at all with there hard/sprued plastic (or whatever you call it) but an absolute nightmare with there 'restic'. I absolutely love Mantics games (though they have no in house rules writers it's all contracted out to Jake and Allesio, so I hope they get an in house writer soon) though if they mess up these 'restic' miniatures with stupid mold lines in stupid places I will be done with there 'restic' material.

Same here, and for a lot if others too, I think.

Some good news though is what we heard about an 'improved formula' that debuted with Dreadball Season 3 releases.

Here's hoping!

The 'improved' formula is still hit and miss I'm afraid as I had some of my season 3 Dreadball stuff with horrendous mould lines in stupid places and other's with barely noticeable ones till I put on my magnifying glasses light thingy I wear when modeling.

That's a bit surprising for me. - I didn't expect there to be more enforcers than plague.

Admittedly, some of the plague guys are very, very big.

Has anyone played it enough to say whether the plague end up outnumbering the enforcers in more of the actual scenarios?

Might just be that there are more Enforcers due to the variety of load outs. They way I see it working as not all the Enforcers end up in every mission, with the specialists (sniper/engineer/etc) changing out.

According to the latest set of beta cards the points for the two starter forces are:

enforcers--
captain:28
4x enforcer with rifle(10): 40
2x assault enforcer(10): 20
enforcer engineer: 10
enforcer sniper: 13
enforcer with missile launcher: 11
and I think the sentry guns were bought as gear for 5 pts each: 10
Gives the enforcers 132 points to use in what has so far been 70pt games. Basically you get some variety.

plague--
1st gen: 22
3x 2nd gen(10): 30
4x 3rd gen(6): 24
1x HMG(6): 6
2x plague hounds (3): 6

Plague get 88 total points. Still enough to swap some things around at the 70pt standard game size. You could also consider one of the 3rd gens as a "3rd gen general" who costs 4 more points in the stat cards and could fill in for the big guy if he goes down. Of course, all of this may get tweaked in the main book too. But you are right, more points of enforcers

*Edit: What dawnbringer said. The enforcers are well situated to start a campaign with their extras but the plague would need more. I think both sets from the kickstarter would be plenty adequate though

Do you think it will be at all possible to add the Striker reward on later surveys or only additional boxes and separate bits?
I only went in for Rebs faction and a couple of boosters due to money at the time but have a bit more to splash now.

If I remember correctly mantic did state that all the options would be available in the second survey except the third party add ons. It would be odd for them to turn down your money!
