I'm almost tempted to buy the box direct from mantic in this pre release thingy, but I would prefer to give my local shop the business if possible, so I guess I'll be getting it next year.
Good news! The pre-release is through stores as well as online. Contact your retailer - they should be ordering now! Automatically Appended Next Post: Just spotted the thread title change. Thanks guys

All deadzone "restics" will be cast with this new restic formula - the bulk of the models. The "Plastics" such as the terrain and some of the kits coming in wave 2 will be "Hard Plastic".
Does that include the enforcers which will be in the first shipment? Or will those be sourced from existing stock of the old material?

Yep, we got a load of them made up for Deadzone, so they'll be the same as the rest of the Deadzone stuff.

Ahh, thank you James, its nothing personal against Mantic, but my local place organises Dreadball leagues and provides a place to play for quite a few people and I try and make sure they can keep doing that wherever possible.

Never feel you need to make excuses for buying from your FLGS - yes, we might make a tiny bit more when it comes through us direct but it's more important to sustain the community, and that's what gaming stores do. They're the valiant front-line crusaders keeping the hobby alive! That's why we do whatever we can to support them

So Mantic heard the complaints, since a rep over to Dakka and got us production pictures of the models from dead zone. Looks good to me! I'm reasonably sure they're not evil. Ha ha. I feel secure in the fact that I have backed them since that first plastic ghoul model they sent with the magazine. They've had a few hiccups along the way, it's true, but I think they're where they belong now.

Thanks for the pictures James! And thanks to our resident Squiglett O'Hare for keeping this thread and title up to date.
I do look forward to getting my DeadZone box, as enormous as it'll be. In regards to DreadBall, if I assume I was one of the last boxes out the door, I shouldn't start worrying until next week and nothing has shown, right?
Also, while it's great for the Dakka-ites (and we ARE the most important forum in the universe, just ask anyone here! ), could you convince Ronnie to put together a formal update to the backers with those pictures and/or maybe more? I'm sure the worry about "master versus production" is cropping up elsewhere and those poor benighted souls might not visit the shining beacon of reason and civil discourse that is Dakka.
Oh dear! It seems my tongue has gone straight through my cheek! Welp, off to the doctor, I'll just get me coat...

We've already been discussing it in the comments on Deadzone - and we're getting a proper update ready, of which these pictures will be a part. We don't like to spam people with too many updates for closed campaigns

Awesome, James! Those production casts look excellent.
Can you please pass it on up the chain of command that we do like seeing what we're getting? Production pics for backers should be at the top of things for Mantic.
Now I'm just wondering what the next bit of paranoia will manifest as.

Ooh while we've got you, James, do you know when the DZ rulebook PDF is coming? Methinks it was said this week, so I guess I can just be patient.
Oh for those curious Stewart I think it was got back to me thru kickstarter and said the game would have paper and rubber mat to my question of how man rubber mats in strike team. The term game kind of confused me, i assume he meant strike when he said game. So that tentatively solves that riddle.

These components are just straight out of the bag, no work done.
These miniatures have been assembled, with mould lines removed, and the five on the left have been primed with grey spray to matt them down and show the detail better. The ones on the right are bare plastic, for comparison purposes.
Thoughts?
Well done! Most of us are reasonable folks when you come through like this . Puts an end to the controversy, and it's just that easy!

Ok, so for the Warpath kickstarter I want computer sculpted Z'zor at the same level of execution as the Mars Attacks bug, a Veer-myn force from the get-go, Deadzone rules for every unit, and 24/7 monitoring of the Kickstarter comments section by the same person chained to a desk with no breaks. In all seriousness, the production photos are fantastic. You guys at Mantic must be thrilled. You've had successes before, but Deadzone always felt like a watershed moment. Congratulations all around.

Thanks for the offer! It was a Kickstarter order, but if I don't get anything by Friday I'll drop you a note just to make sure I was at the tail end; even with as long as it's felt, I'm not sure we're out of the fairly normal "Royal Mail/USPS slowness" window yet.
Random thought, the courier shipments for DeadZone come with tracking information, right? If so, the impatient child in me will have that screen to obsess over come early December.

Yeah, they're great. You can really hear the horror and tragedy as they roll.
