Started assembling a few models here and there, mold lines arn't terrible and they are generally are pretty easy to scrape off with a knife(even the one down the middle of one marauder head). I have figured out why people hate the integrated bases though, it's very hard to tell if they are flat or of they need some hot water and if they are not flat they are very hard to glue into the base.

Just got my retail box mega-deal in, very impressed with the contents. The terrain and mat were both far larger than what I was expecting (despite knowing the measurements) and similarly, the Plague 1st Gen is HUGE. I can't wait to get started on this stuff.
The limited edition Survivor is very neat as well.

For those interested I got my Mantic xmas box in the post today. Some surprising figs inside.
1. Dreadball mech big guy 1 figure
2. Deadzone Rebels! 1 pack of the two different basic alien rebel fighters 2 figures
3. Warpath. Forgefathers with heavy weapons. 5 figures
4. Warpath. 1 sprue Orx heavy weapons 2 figures
5. Kow. 3 Ogres
6. Kow. 10 plastic elves with bows
7. Kow. 10 plastic Men at Arms :(
8. Loka. 1 large green castle thing?
Not too bad considering I thought I'd end up with battle nuns and marauder sprues. Plus I've now got replacements for my two damaged rebels from my dz strike set.

My DeadZone arrived today! Everything looks awesome!
I took a quick glance through the contents, I didn't open up any bags yet but just labeled each bag by its faction. I do have two questions though:
- The Ruined Battlezone will ship in the second wave correct? I seem to remember reading that somewhere but can't find it now.
- I have already noticed that a bad of Gen 3 Plagues came with Marauder heads in my box. Do I message them through the Kickstarter?
Thanks for your help. I'll update any other problems that I note as I go through it tonight.

=/ Maybe I just need to find a good retailer that likes to back these, then I can get my stuff on a more predictable schedule... Oh well extra/early goodies I guess. Not so sure I care to pay for courier on the second shipment, though that may become mandatory who knows. @Ed thanks for sharing, that seems to be pretty typical of the box. 10 MaA, some elves, the two DB things as advertised, one little bit from DZ, one loka piece, the 2 orx and 5 forge fathers, and the ogres (awesome!). Oh did you get a DB MvP or did it not come (as advertised)?

Yowza... I just got the king of mis-packs, with the arrival of my Strike-Force + extras. The irony isn't lost on me, as I was so fortunate to be a small part of Deadzone anyway, and I am missing so many of my goodies.
Lets see... the list of broken/missing elements starts with, but is not limited to...
- A missing Sorak
- A missing Ripper-Suit Marauder (well, most of him is missing)
- Missing the extra Pyro Marauder
- Ripped cover on my rules
- No Dreadball MVP
- An extra accessory sprue, but a missing regular sprue of terrain
And that was where I stopped before having to head to work... :-p
That plus a couple potentially broken bits, is actually quite unfortunate.
Obviously i'll submit a missing bits form, but I almost feel bad for listing the full extent of what needs to be replaced. I don't want to take advantage, as this is still a hell of a deal... but i'd at least like to be able to build the outright missing models and have a nice book.

There are several things that won't be shipping until the second wave.
See any of the recent Kickstarter updates for the list of things that are shipping in the second wave and the statement "Everything else is shipping in the second wave."

Mantic Blog today: What a week! As of this morning, we’ve shipped 99% of Deadzone Kickstarter orders. This is a massive achievement, and it means that the vast majority of backers will be receiving their package very soon – if they haven’t got it already! Incredible work, and we’d like to thank the army of Pathfinders and volunteers who stepped up to help us make it happen!
So either I'm an extremely unfortunate 1%er, or I can expect my box.. Monday? Theoretically at least. Neat. At least they're updating if fedex isn't.

@ Kirasu - Check the lists on page 125. They are a huge help and an easy way of seeing if you have received everything. There are some things that you won't get until wave 2 though. Give me a call at some point and I can tell you what I know is shipping in wave 2.
In other news, I'll be around Monday and Wednesday after work if you want to try a game.

(I'm reposting my terrain commentary from the Mantic forums.)
I've read all of the threads I can find on the subject of building the Deadzone terrain, here and on other forums, and so was a little concerned about Mantic's terrain being difficult to assemble / disassemble without glue. Today I put it to the test, by clipping together a rectangular one-story building, then taking it completely apart.
And having done so, I'm mystified as to where the problems I'm hearing about are coming from. Mine went together easily and solidly, if frequently without the trademark "click", and came apart easily with careful pressure applied to the pegs through the clip holes. No filing, no broken clips, no problems with either straight or corner connectors.
There is no way I'm the handiest person here with miniatures, as I've been out of the game for two decades and only recently got back in. What this says to me is one of two things:
1. There are good and bad batches of clips / buildings, and I got a good one, while some people got more difficult ones. (And I have quite a few sprues left to go, so if that's the case I'll probably get some bad ones too.)
2. People are taking "Lego for adults" too seriously, and think these sets should slap together and come apart as quickly and easily as legos do. They don't; very few building systems do, which is why legos are legos and everything else is inferior. (In terms of utility, obviously, not in terms of aesthetics.) In my (admittedly limited) experience, if you want to build a fresh new set-up every game with a minimum of time, forget it. Elaborate set-ups won't happen in fifteen minutes or even half an hour, but I never expected that to be the case. But if, like me, you want to use the Mantic clips rather than glue because sometime in the future you'd like to take the time to completely redesign your battlefield, you definitely can.
Is this set more difficult to use than Imex Platformer / Hexagon kits? Not in my experience, and I've built with all of them. Imex kits work on a smaller scale, are visually noisier with a much denser usage of clips, and their clips grab with much greater force, which means they will break sometimes. Imex kits aren't impossible to assemble or disassemble, although they are a bit of a pain, but I wouldn't say the Mantic kits are more difficult.
Did I get enough clips to build my terrain with? I can't comment fairly on that yet until I put more sprues together.

I started messing with my Mercenaries, some Rebs, and some Plague last night. With regards to mold lines, I have to say that they vary in terms of horribleness. Some figures have terrible mold lines, some have none at all. From what I've opened so far, the Mercenaries have suffered the worst from the mold lines. And even then, the mold lines can vary on the parts to a single figure. Blaine's upper body was great, his head had no mold lines, his arms were clean, and then his legs were pretty bad. Oberon on the other hand, he had absolutely no mold lines. The Survivor probably had the worst mold lines of my mercs, and he cleaned up really badly. I may try and get the metal version so I can have a decent looking version of him. Wrath was fairly bad as well, but cleaned up decently.
All of the Plague I've opened have very prominent mold lines, but they clean up very easily and look great after a quick scrape.
The Rebs I opened all looked great, with only some minor mold lines on their legs that weren't too hard to get rid of. I did however notice that one of my Yndig was missing his right arm, so I kitbashed one from a Dark Eldar spare I had laying around.
I also used a Ghoul head to replace Simmonds' missing head.

I think James mentioned something at the start of the week (possibly on the mantic facebook) about being uncontactable for a few days, I imagine so they can get the last of the orders out as quickly as possible.

My Christmas box arrived too - while it's a bit less...full than previous years, that's presumably because there's a much higher amount of restic stuff!
- Dreadball Mech. My third after the kickstarter and Ultimate!
- Female Corp Dreadball MVP
- 2 Alien Deadzone Rebs. If they're been failing to pack them in the main shipments, they might have an unexpected surplus...
- 3 Melee Ogres
- 5 elite Restic Forge Fathers
- Green Loka Dwarf (not a bad material at all)
- 10 Men at Arms
- 10 Elf Archers with Command Group
- 2 Warpath Ork Specialists/Heavies
- Elf poster/instructions that you get in the box sets
- Mantic Journal Issue 5. Actually the only one I already have! Interesting look at Mantic's state pre-Kickstarter.

More importantly, once the package starts moving, it's being prioritized based on what the shipper paid for. If it wasn't scheduled for Saturday delivery a few hours ago, it may not have left on the right flight to get to somewhere by tomorrow.
