I didn't back the KS, is there a date for retail release of all this "wave 2" stuff?

After they ship the KS stuff they'll probably do a few waves. Nexus psi came out and included the booster models for the first factions and more mercs. They will probably release asterians and forge fathers with their book, and the zombies with their book.. some other stuff to work in like peacekeepers and new enforcer sprue. Someone else may have a close time line though?

From the most recent update:

We lost a few weeks because we put more products over into hard plastic, but we look to still be on course to start shipping in July. For a moment there it looked like it might go earlier, but this is a Kickstarter after all and that never happens

Of course 'start shipping in July' probably does mean that that majority of packages go out over August.

Has your team crashed out of the World Cup already? Spain, it looks as though you are joining England, coming home early this time!!

The great news is once your team is knocked out, it leaves you with lots of time to paint miniatures – instead of watching all those tedious draws (and inevitable penalty shoot-outs!).

To cheer us all up (and so I don’t have to discuss the embarrassing fact that the USA will be staying in the World Cup longer than England!) I thought everyone who has been knocked out should be able to get some minis or amazing scenery to paint at a nice price, by way of compensation!

So, England currently has lost both games and has a goal difference of -2 – so everything on the site has 20% off until Friday night (24 hours after the group stages end, so everyone has a chance).

If England lose the third game and our goal difference gets worse we will increase theDreadball T Best Painted discount up to 30%!

But if we win and our goal difference improves – the discount will reduce back to 10%!

To use the current discount, just add ALREADYOUT20 - this code will work for any countries that are no longer in the World Cup (even if they did not qualify) – it only excludes the countries that are still involved in the competition. The code must be used on any order over £30/30 Euros/$50.

From the next round we will have a new code each day a game is played that will be valid for 24 hours – based on the previous days results and goals – with any losing teams able to join the party!

My emphasis, sounds like 20% off mantic for the next few days. It could go up to 30%, but may go back down to 10%. Time to consider my wish list...

I've tried to bring this up before, but:

The game rules support moving squads on trays =/= the rules say you MUST use trays.

After all, there's no requirement in Kings of War that your regiments etc must be on movement trays, but people use them because they're convenient. I'd hope Warpath would turn out the same way - tray based movement supported, but no obligation for those who say it 'feels wrong'.

Now, cue reactions of "but the game rules can't support trays as all scifi games require you to be able to have individual models clambering up, down, inside and around terrain pieces" in 3, 2, 1...

Wonder if it applies to preorders as well. I just ordered the dreadball azure forest bundle. Sucks tgat the US is still in, wonder if they'd give a discount based on favorite team instead. Not that I follow soccer(

Actually, I don't really care all that much. If they decide to go with trays, I won't get butthurt - I just won't play their game and will stick with "proper" 40k... /shrug.

Hmm yeah wonder if you get mantic points on the scenery... probably. I was thinking of getting some Iron Ancestors since you can't find them online shipped much cheaper than at mantic if you order enough for free shipping. And you have guaranteed mantic case instead of potentially losing that in favor of them shipping you the baggies to save weight.

Of course the DKQ kickstarter announcement on the previous blog post has me wondering if I won't be backing that after all... I was gonna skip it but it does sound pretty neat, might wait to get the dwarf stuff for another time.

Could you perhaps quote the 'being a dick part' and highlight which part you personally took offence to?

Ah, okay. Think I worked it out. It's not the best phrased, true, But it is literally what happened last time the subject came up - people assuming that the rules will require that models be able to climb all over terrain, when none of us know nothing of the sort.

Perhaps a friendly smiley would have clarified it as a tongue in cheek comment rather than a backhanded swipe at other posters?

More a jab at myself there^ I've noticed a bit too many orkmoticons in my posts.

Say, any of you people who actually watch the Football... what are the chances England will lose again increasing the discount to 30%? I'd hate to miss out on the 20% but I'd probably spend more money overall if the 30 became active.

Well, neither England nor Costa Rica have anything to play for*, England are playing their kids/Frank Lampard, but then Costa Rica may be resting their better players for the their knockout games.

So... dunno?

* I suppose Costa Rica might want to play for 1st place to get an easier draw, England for some shred of dignity.

It sounds like they'll listen and dial it back if the response is negative enough towards mass battle movement tray stuff, especially if it's over on the Mantic forum where it's a 50/50 split between wp1 pro and wp2 con posters, which wouldn't be a true reflection of the community or potential community at large I don't think.

Thanks for the information. I'm kind of hesitant to order at 20% since I can get that anywhere, even though I like directly supporting mantic. At 30% though... that's pretty hard to argue.
