Ah, I ddin't think he was all that 'demanding' in his email to them, and he certainyl wasn't 'threatening'.

Puppets War really seems to be a messed up company - awesome products (design-wise), less than stellar communication/customer service, and hit or miss casting.

I have sent them several emails over the last month but only recieved a response back from them after threating to contact my credit card company. While my tone can come across as demanding/threating that was the intent as I have now waited paitently for 60+ days for a package to arrive. I only recceived any actual tracking information a few days ago and it was none to helpful. I did contact the USPS and they were unable to assist me since the address does not match the tracking information that I provided them.

I can more than understand that packages get lost and do not fault them for it. But until I have product in hand I consider this to be a customer service issue. Oh and just to be clear I was told that the banning is done by there customer service department and is a policy "we do it with people who do not seek to clearify in what happened" exaclty as written by them. Not quite sure what to make of that.

Well for me personally I have had excellent experience with their customer service. So this is a bit of a surprise.

I will say that someone out there is having a great experience with them because their Facebook is full of high praise.

If it made it to the US, it really might not be their fault. Not that that's relevant, since it didn't make it to you. Unfortunately product loss through shipping damage and failure is one of the costs of doing business, you can't expect customers to eat that no matter how small you are.

That might not be the best or most accurate barometer for that metric...

It's really unfortunate that the company is having so many issues, what with the casting issues and now the customer service issues. I've been eying some of their products for quite a while, but reading the posts here is making me more and more hesitant to purchase.

Unless the Mk.II turrets are significantly smaller than the Mk.I that vehicle is going to be pretty big.

I want casts that look like that when I order.

However as to the vehicle itself, I must say I'll pass on this one. Just not my style.

I quite like it. A nice sci-fi feel to it.

I suspect that the size may well be the same as a Rhino, rather than bigger. They have clear market reasons to scale it so, after all...

I am going to say that is bigger than a rhino. Wider at a minimum.

for what its worth, I stopped ordering from them when I realized that all three orders of mine (within 2 years time) were underscaled (didn't fit the models they were intended for) and poorly cast (way too much repair or throw away/ruined product. It just wasnt worth it. Their stuff looks good on the internet, but never delivers in person.

As to blocking someone who says they will file a claim with their credit card- unfortunately, that's actually not that uncommon. "Horde o' Bits" blocked me on ebay, after I couldn't get a response to my emails so I opened a Paypal claim regarding a shipping overcharge.

They then responded, said they couldn't do anything about it, I said fine and closed the claim... yet I got banned from their auctions! It does suck... but I can't blame companies for not wanting to sell to folks who might file a claim against them.

I just wish they would unban me so I can buy more bits, grrrr . Although maybe not being able to is a good thing... forced restraint!

Ok, just got my stuff in.

Overall very happy with the parts.

Got some shoulder pads, and some walker auto cannons.

One of the shoulder pads had a small issue, so they gave me two sprues of them, so I did get my "ordered" amount and then a couple of more in good quality.

Some very mild warping on the auto cannon barrels, and one or two very small bubbles. A bit of very thin flash here and there.
Overall equal or better than the majority of my forgeworld orders.

Not quite as clean as the casts from Anvil, but overall very good - I would order from them again.

To be fair there are a couple of companies producing great casts which has kind of spoiled us, however my FW stuff even of late has had mould slips air bubbles thin casting and plenty of warping.

So to be honest there are other issues out there, however it does not mean it is ok but I will say going back over some of my Puppetwars stuff I have some really good casts.

Maybe they have dropped the ball a little of late, but I think I will place an order for a few bits and see how it turns out, plus my dealings when I have had a few issues was sorted quickly with satisfactory results.

Those helmet will look very nice on my Black Templar Neophytes...Or IG allies or...

But seroiusly, WHEN will all the goods from the last couple of update be released?

OK, I got the Puppets War stuff I ordered on 11th September through today, so 9 days from Poland to the UK which is good.

There was notification that the order had shipped (for those that care about tracking) but my spam filter has only just coughed it up a week after the email went out and the minis had already arrived

I ordered the 5 pack of Barghest Fiends

I initially thought this was 5 unique figures, but a more careful inspection of the photos on site reveal 3 different bodies with 5 different heads... my mistake but it would be good to see this specified in the text on the site (and certainly significant if you order the 15 pack where lack of body variety will be more noticeable)





The photos above show what I got (no clean up), really nice sharp casts, a small amount of feathery flash, a tiny amount of mould lines and 2 bubbles (the only ones) that you can see on the blu-tac-ed example I've got standing next to the Mantic Troll, note the 50mm base is NOT included and again is just there for size comparison

so in conclusion I'm really happy with these in terms of quality

next some Gringo Orc heads for a bit of fun (10 heads, 5 sculpts)



again lovely casts with a minimum of flash/mould lines very pleased with them

(As expected these heads are big so you'll need a modern GW heroic body or similar to use them on)

and finally a pack of the Mineral Field Bases (6 pack)



first the good: the surface of the bases are well cast with sharp detail on the crystals so they should paint up well, and they included a free extra base in my order

now the bad: they are all pretty twisted and somewhat oval rather circular (I'd guess the mould may have been squashed during the casting process) and a couple have pretty big flaws/bubbles on the edges (see picture)

I will be able to remove most of the twist by sanding the base down, and a bit of putty will sort the edges out

so overall OK I guess, I'd have preferred 6 (near) perfect bases than 7 I need to do work on, but the most important bit (the top) was well cast, and they're only slightly off circular

Overall I'd give them 7.5/10 (and if I hadn't got the bases that would have been 8/10)

and if you want 5 devil dogs I think they're well worth picking up (but I'd avoid ordering 15 as with only 3 bodies I think they'd end up too similar)

Sadly I've got to post an update to the above review

I've spent today tidying up the casts an removing the minor mould lines and casting stubs and have encountered an annoying problem

just under the surface of the casts are a load of small bubbles revealed as I've worked on them so I'll have a far bit to do with liquid greenstuff before I can undercoat them

(if you don't bother cleaing up mould lines etc ignore this complaint it's not going to effect you)

not a deal breaker and I still don't feel I've overpaid but certainly annoying

Nice casts, glad to see they're improving on that front - I may order from them again one of these days with those improvements

I've just noticed that the Barghest legs are labelled to show which body socket the fit into which is a nice touch too, not really needed in this case, but it shows they're thinking of things to improve the customer experience

EDIT: also just realised the ork heads would work on the Mantic Troll body if anybody fancies some big muscly orks with small legs

Very good to hear that the casting is improving.

Looks like things might be improving. That gives me hope that when mine comes, everything will be in good shape.

Those ork heads work fine on normal ork bodies, I have one looking at me right now
