one of the reason for the Chapters massive losses was their ultimately unsuccessful attempt to salvage a new previously unknow STC which produced a vehical similar to (but much more advanced than) a Warhound Titan

Rarely seen? I've got an army of them myself. Personally I like te idea of them being reinforced with whatever fighting forces they pick up on there travels. Though my 15mm Levi's will end up in my upcoming mechanicus army.

Theophony, did you freehand the symbol on the shoulder, or are you using a stencil (if so, what?). Oh, and glowing eyes / smokestacks are cool

Az: My heavy weapons squads made sure that the roof has interesting "shapes" that simulate age really well. I'll just have to colour them appropriately. One of the corners burst at the seem, though, so maybe I can distress it even more. Trust me, they'll be done before they can hurt other miniatures!

The symbol was traced around a plastic card cut out I made along time ago. I got a paper punch from hobby lobby that was a 2" chevron, and one that's a 2" tactical arrow. Both are unavailable anymore, but made great cut outs that it the tops of rhinos and drop pods perfectly. I even took two of the chevrons to make the assault symbols.


The company that made he punches went out of business a few years back, then my chevron punch broke

Actually not too hard to justify. Its more of a Knight than a titan and it isnt too hard to imagine a pilot left with marines for the promise of greater glory and honor. Doesnt mesh with current fluff too much but not so far fetched especially for old timers in the game.

Legoburner made a fantastic writeup of his visit to Wargames Factory's facility in China, check it out as there are a few shots of Dreamforge boxes in there, too and the process used to make these awesome models.

Theophony, thanks! I was mostly curious about the process, rather than getting the specific parts, since I want to airbrush on symbols but not necessarily those. Cheers for the pics

I was currently thinking that it was a Titan (whichever class), based on a planet near Sotha (scythes home world), that got gobbled up with the rest f the system. The mechanicus holding the machines as sacred realized that there was no hope for them, but the machines would survive. The pilots ejected from the titans to faced thei certain death, but the titans were unmolested for he most part. A few of the pilots were evacuated from their forgeworld by the scythes salvation teams, and once the nid fleet made it through the system the mechanicus rescued the god machines. Purified and sanctified the machines were brought back to life and as a show of loyalty they repatriated the machines to the scythes. Their joint effort is now to confront the tyranids at each stop.

The full-sized crusader weighs in just under a Warhound in size and fits more with a Knight instead. Knights are not titans but one man battlesuits that have MIU (mind impulse units) far more superior than anything else the Imperium ever created. They used to be pretty prominent but during the Great Crusade and the following Horus Heresy the need/desire for the larger, and more destructive Titans seen them decline. Now the knight households serve as protector's and guardians of Mechanicus holdings which are not quite Forge world class. Can still easily fit with your fluff and personally I think the Crusaders were born/bred for this especially when the new weapon arms become available. I'm looking at you rippy saw sword arm!

I've read the Hersey series an mechanicum books as well, but the knights I understood to be about half the size of a Titan. I believe Ritides uses the 15mm to operate as knights. For survivability and weapons options I will definitely field this as a short (1" shorter) war hound. My weapon arms should be shipping soon, so he will have the full gambit of gear.

Mark, any work so far on the rules? Maybe just a leviathan fight club. Rule no. 1, nobody talks about leviathan fight club.

I just moved my leviathan to another area of my curio, and it seems to be a good 3 to 4 inches shorter than my scratch built warhound, which I thought was the size of a real one. They would most likely be Knights on my table-top.

I think these are on the line (whereas my 5.5" tall ones are definitely Knight sized). So, if you mount them up on some rubble as I've seen done, they could pass for a Warhound, or leave them mounted on ground level to use as Knights.

Also, are you guys checking out the link to the pics of WGF that I posted above? From legoburner's trip... well worth looking at

The Leviathans are the same size as an Armorcast Warhound Titan.

You guys also need to remember that while Warhounds are Titan-class, they're the dinky little scout class. They're not the "proper" titans, like Reavers and Warlords. It's quite feasable to have a knight be almost the same size as a Warhound, especially if you take the sizes of the old EPIC models into account. There wasn't a whole lot in it between the two.

Now I just wish I could find my old Armourcast Warhounds...

It's not at 1:1 scale.

Only in Japan has a 1:1 scale mega bot been built with limited mobility,,,Bandai promotional for Gundam,,,they made a life sized 1:1 60ft tall model that does a few things but stands still doing so. Hard to lose that in a garage!

Leviathan makes a good Warhound equivalent, likely not so fast as the legs of it are human patterned, not reverse hock legs as the WH has, but add the all gun arms and it will do about the same damage

Just remember, Knights are inherited through a family and are not part of any standing military structure. The admech likely sends replacements but Knights for the most part simply stay on the agri-worlds(knight or shield worlds far from any front) and dual in ritualistic combat with exodite eldar knights. So a pilot taking his personal knight walker off world while unlikely, isnt entirely out of character.

I have hopes for this game, even more hopes we will see some renders or artwork of the other factions some time in the near future. I want to see some of the other human infantry.

I hope that since the available images for the American units seem to suggest a more sleek, high-tech look that their mechs will be able to function as a stand-in for an Eldar Knight. Then we can do some proper duels.

Anyone get any updates in America yet? last week we were told it would be shipping end of this week, then the wording seemed to change slightly that it should be shipping from China this week. Have they received the boxes in china yet to package the arms? I'm not trying to be negative, just trying to get actual confirmation.

Still waiting to hear from China on the status of the flight to the US and the Pacific Rim shipments... Will update as soon as they can confirm

Good news everyone! (in Australia) - I've recieved my wave two box!

The bad news however is, it was missing the leviathans, and only rexeived the extra arms and cap coolers for the two mortis I ordered. Since the Mortis shipped to the US, it might be another miscommunication where the chinese branch broke all their orders. At the very least, they broke mine... let's hope it's just that ; p

Didn't receive any shipping info for it after the initial communication for my phone number and address confirmation.
