Hopefully someone in Europe will pick up this range sooner or later, I'm itching to get my hand on one of those Leviathans.

Not exactly my retailer of choice as I found them anything but fast and reliable, but that could just be me.

Wayland have them in stock and have free shipping atm. But yeah, they can take a while to ship things that aren't in stock. I've had an order waiting to ship for a month now, waiting on a couple items that they listed as shipping within 3-9 days. I'm in no rush for them though.

Here is a partial list... I am sure there are more but the distributors do not like to tell me who they are selling to.

After I posted my message I got a package at my door from WGF, took it downstairs and began assembling right away. No like hose Aussies . Unfortunately it looked like they shorted me alot of goodies, until I looked at the packing slip and saw it was for somebody else's order, they just slapped my shipping info on the box. I've got two of the weapons built and the other two unboxed from the order. Was trying o contact WGF when I saw they emailed me while I was assembling , just sent them a follow up to see how to fix this. Hope the other person is having fun assembling my order . Trying not to be negative, but both waves I've had shipping errors, hope WGF can straighten things out on their end as I love marks stuff.

Pics shortly.

Edit: pics now

Good news on the Beowulf/Grendel gun, the tips of the guns can easily be exchanged even without magnets. Marks excellent design allows the barrel tip of the mortar to pop off and the longer barrel slides inside the hole. They both have on smooth side to the part that goes inside the main barrel to align them. The ammo hopper on the gun I have just sticky tacked to the side to allow for switching between right and left hands on the leviathan. It being hollow allows for that to hold it firmly in place.

Now the not so good parts. Some of the arms list screws for holding them in position. None of the kits I received had any screws in them , but they are holding fine anyway. The fingers on the claw seemed to be miss numbered if I remember correctly. I can't recall if it was on the sheet itself or the sprue. Also the diagram on the Beowulf gun arm has lines going to two different parts, but only one is labeled, but its easy to figure out.

All in all a great kit so far. Waiting for my kids o get off the bus, or I'd look more at he instruction sheets. When MY order gets here I'll take other photos as possible.

I'm looking at the directions for the RH Mauler Claw I got, and boggling...each finger/thumb has two joints, PLUS it looks like each can be rotated in its socket, too. There's going to be a lot of pose options just for the freaking hand!

The Nova Cannon also looks freakin sweet. That's going to be a build that is both fun and vexing, as I know I'll prefer to try to paint under the heat shields.

In total, this wave for me was:

3 Mini Crusaders
2 Mortis Levis
1 Nova Cannon
1 Right Mauler Claw
4 (total) Vulkan Cannons (2 included with the Mortis Levis, 2 extra for the other sides).

After seeing it, I kind of wish I'd gotten more Novas, as well as the Beowulf/Grendel and H.E.L. I hadn't quite realized just how snacky they'd look when I was pledging. Thankfully, I can fix that with aftermarket gun arms.

Indeed, I dare not post picks of some of my finger poses the twist is limited in the 4 main fingers but it does allow for some movement the thumb gets some good mobility but it may be best to glue the post to the had and let it dry before inserting the thumb and assembling and closing the hand. the other option is to glue the post (1F) to the thumb (1E) just make sure you really push it down against (6) the hand body hard so that you provide friction on the thumb and it will retain the position you set it in.

I am sorely tempted to build one of the Mauler arm on one of my Mortis Levis throwing up the horns, having good rocking. It would just go so well with the scythe, I think.

Added: A scythe, I might add, which is HUGE. And the already nice packaging we got with the Crusader? Even better with the Mortis. I couldn't believe the foam tray for the small sprues.

It looks like we may have an issue with the arm armor for the Ripper Saw, the Nova Cannon, the Beowulf/Grendel and the HEL Cannon. At first blush it appears that the Right handed versions of the armor were included but the left had armor sections were not? WGF is verifying on their end by randomly sampling boxes in their warehouse but I would love to hear from some of you. I am surprised none of the Aussies pointed this out.. did the Aussies get both the left and right armor for these arms?

I would love to know so we can start on a fix for this issue.

Thank you!
Mark

Heh, Horns, A-OK and well, throwing the finger are all just a finger push away

Mark, my Nova Cannon has only one set of arm armor plates, appears to be right side plates to me. Were left arm armor plates meant to also be on the sprue? My first, quick look (I have to take quick looks until my 3-year-old boy goes to sleep), missed that, as I thought maybe they'd formed the arm armor on those weapons to be less side specific.

From the 4 arms I opened, each only has one set of armor. Though two of the arms were claws so should only have one set, I thought he others were universal, I'll have to take a look once he kids are asleep.

WGF responded to my mixed order issue, it will be corrected quickly.

I haven't built them yet Mark so not sure what I'm looking at. Here is my unboxing again with sprue pics if that helps, has HEL and Nova Cannons, no rippers or Beowulfs. I can take more pics if necessary.

Okay, I got the kidlet into bed, and had a chance to take a good look at the Mortis, finally.

I like the way the instructions and the base are attached neatly to the card that's at the top, when you open it up. Just a very neat, professional way to package them.

Under that, the foam tray. This is just a stupifyingly nice touch. For those that haven't seen it, it's almost like a mini tray such as you'd get from Battlefoam or other similar foam tray dealers, but completely made from an interesting grade of very firm, very small celled foam. In that, we have the head in one slot, pistons in the next, and the same shoulder armor and chest armor that we've seen with the Crusader, in the third and fourth shaped slots respectively. Another side slot holds the screwdriver and a small ziploc bag of screws. The formed clear plastic that held those kind of parts on the Crusader were nice, too, this just holds the bits a little more firmly. Looks professional, too.

There are 11 main, stacked sprues. Five are Mortis specific bits (counting the scythe and the Mauler claw), with the two non weapon sprues being foot /lower leg components. Armor for the limbs is not present, apart from the instep plate which is specific to the Mortis. The other six sprues appear contain all the rest of the body parts, which look exactly like the parts used on the Crusader, unsurprisingly. I would have to dig my unbuilt Crusader to see if the sprue layouts are the same. Some, at least (notably the torso sprues and the stacks), I feel are exactly the same sprues from the Crusader, which makes perfect sense.

It looks like it'll be the same joy to build that the Crusader was, with some extra flavor to change things up a little. The differences in the feet are interesting, and even include the tread pattern on the bottom of them.

The scythe blade is a whopping 5 1/8" long, seriously impressive blade to be swinging about, and with the armature it's attached to, looks like it has quite a bit of reach. The claw fingers range from just under 1 1/2" for the (possibly offensively posed) middle claw, to about 1 3/16 for the pinkie claw. A range of sizes which can easily be seen to be appropriately different sizes, yet not a distorted proportion...in other words, the claw fingers look right, next to each other. I LOVE the knuckle armor on the hand, it will make the claw, fitted to a Crusader (with arm armor if it's one of the separately bought Mauler claws), blend into the overall aesthetic of the armor plates nicely.

The Nova Cannon is sweeeet. As I mentioned before, I'll need to dry fit it to see how much of a pain painting the parts under the barrel shrouds is going to be if they're glued up before painting, or if it really NEEDS to be painted before they're put on. Right arm armor only, sadly. I have faith that it will be straightened out, though, Mark and WGF seem to be going to extraordinary lengths to deliver exactly what was promised.

Now, the mini Crusader.

Holy poop. I need to invest in some micro tweezers to be able to fit the TINY little sensor bit to the upper right of the head armor. Seriously, if you tried fitting it to a GW IG guy as a bionic eye, for example, it'd look small. Part of that is how out of scale big they're prone to making details like that appear on their minis, but...well, let's just say that it would be the perfect size for a bionic eye if we were looking for realistic scale. Tiny. I went looking for it specifically since I remembered how small that same bit is on the full sized Crusader. I'd honestly expected it to be cast as part of the head armor, and not separate.

Some small things DID get minor changes in the mini Crusader, however. I don't have an exhaustive list, but some of the leg piston setups, for example, are a bit simplified. I don't think it'll screw with the appearance or function of all those wonderful details and poseable bits. I think some of the sword arm bits are slightly simplified, too, but since I haven't built one of those on my full scale Crusaders, I can't say for sure. A couple of pieces that were separate on the shoulder joints also got redone as one single piece, I think. The top support arm of the actual Vulkan cannons are not hanging anymore, they attach to the muzzle section, and the bit the barrel cluster's spindle rides in is cast as part of the main gun bit (it's what joins the upper armature to the muzzle). Speaking of the guns, both the Vulkan barrels and the chest cannons do still retain the faux rifling in the barrels, although they're really really tiny and hard to see in the chest cannons. Painting the deep part of the barrel black, and a nice shiny metal color just flicked onto the raised rifling lands ought to make them stand out to close (and I mean close) inspection, though.

All in all, while there are a couple of hiccups (missing left arm armor on the add on guns, and the mini excaliburs and capacitor coolers shipping a little late), we know those are either already handled and coming to us with a slight delay, or are being actively investigated by WGF, and I think they've earned a bit of trust that they'll fix it. And the upsides to this release, at least the parts of it that I pledged for, are superb. The kits, both in design and execution, are stellar, and clearly serve notice to all other players in the miniatures game that the bar has gone up a few notches.

Plus then they just go get their free healthcare and come back and bloody it up again. It's a vicious cycle that they use to repulse invaders with overwhelming politeness...

I have a feeling that I'm going to regret not getting more 15mm versions, but time will tell. At least I know nearby stores that carry DFG stuff so I can support retailers who are wise (and obviously online if none of them are particularly wise on their own).
