New update with more pics. I am going to 3D print a different head for my 15mm Mortis models, and use capacitor coolers instead of smokestacks. With those 2 changes, I think I'll be in love!

For those who got the 15mm Crusader, does it come with capacitor coolers in the box?

Update link, and pics:

The capacitator coolers are separate, and they didn't make the shipment, not sure of what's going on with them right now as I bought mine from miniaturemarket.com. Will love o see your 3d printed head for the mortis when you have it done.

Yes I'll definitely share pics of it . Nice avatar, by the way, reminds me of the Mortis! Or is it one, in fact, under all the Christmas cheer?

Ah, didn't realize the capacitor coolers were a separate kit even for 15mm. I'll definitely be needing to get some for all of mine, regardless (I unfortunately didn't pledge for the 15mm walkers during the campaign, so will be buying them as soon as they're available).

I stole th avatar from Marks web page, it even had the Santa hat. I couldn't be troubled to photoshop a hat onto one of my other pics, or Christmas lights on my old scenery.

I wanted to let you all know I have invited Robey Jenkins as a partner in the development of the Iron-Core game.

Robey runs a website and podcast called Precinct Omega, it is through his podcast that I first became acquainted with Robey. Two traits struck me while listening to his podcast, his love of tabletop games and his ability to tear apart their workings, analyze each component and understand how one part relates to the next and then make critical or creative observations about the core mechanics was impressive.

You can read more here:
http://dreamforge-games.blogspot.com/2014/01/looking-towards-next-phase-iron-core.html

You can hear Robey’s initial thoughts about Iron Core here:
http://precinctomega.podbean.com/2014/01/08/episode-15-iron-core-cometh/

Any resemblance of this post to written English is purely coincidental.

This all sounds like good news to me - and really, any progress on the 'game' side of things is welcome news indeed!

Especially since the writeup mentions that Wave 3 is almost all done on his end. This bodes well to have our goodies in hand for summer.

Yeah, but summer is either right now, or another 11 months away. And it ain't happening right now...

I think he meant summer in 'the real world' or 'real hemisphere'.

Oh, sorry mate. I'm so americano-centric sometimes.

I figure if Secret Weapon is about to get their stuff run through the factory in March, then that is bound to free up some resources for DreamForge.

I wonder if WGF has any ins with a printer in China, for the rulebook?

We're white dwarfs printed in china, because if the rumors are true that it's going away maybe we can use that printer .

Well, the podcast was interesting. Really good to hear some movement on the game itself, only downside is, if you want to be a tester for the game you have to show a picture of your own painted DFG models...

Well, guess that's out of the question then

What happened to these head designs?

Does anybody have size comparison pics of the 15mm Leviathan next to something fairly standard?

Those heads I believe are for the future leviathans, obviously we need these guys done first. Originally these guys had the alternate weapons that have been sold separately.

As for pic, does this help at all.

Nice comparison pic, Theophony!

And yeah, I really love the heads of those other Leviathans. Sadly, they weren't easy to simply drop onto a Crusader / Mortis from what I understand, as those heads are outside of the body cavity... and so couldn't be made this time. But, I am going to 3d print my own heads for the 15mm Mortis, and may take inspiration from those particularly the first one.

Cheers for the comparison picture. I take it that's the 15mm one?

That's a shame about those heads. Really like the first one.

You should post your custom heads up when you finish them, will be interesting to see what you go for!

New Update, with PICTURES!

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dreamforge-games/something-wicked-this-way-comes-crusader-plastic-m/posts/717109

The Stuka Zu Fuss, nicknamed the walking stuka or bellowing cow makes an unmistakable sound when fired

Primarily an anti-infantry or anti structure weapon. It can fire six extremely large high explosive or incendiary charges. Spin stabilized, the rockets are not as accurate as conventional artillery and reloading is time consuming due to the rocket's weight. Rockets are ripple-fired in large numbers where feasible to quickly saturate a target.

The Wurfrahmen 40 is in service as a support weapon for the mobile Panzer formations, particularly in urban areas.

Spoiler:

Glad I have three of these coming to me (not counting the "base" APCs I'm also getting)

That's the one major kit that I skipped. Other than that, and some of the levi weapon arms, I've got at least one of everything either here at home, or on the way.

They were too awesome to be produced, apparently. I really like the existing Leviathan head, but both of those Kick(start) the Mortis' arse up and down the block.

Az, Mark has stated that they will be out later.

Which is the silver lining to the cloud that I left my Crusader at home when I went back for Christmas, and forgot to bring it back to Cambridge with me - so now can't work on it any more until April!

At least that means I get a chance to install the 'alien' head before I finish it up - presuming of course that the heads will be available sepperately and I don't need to get another Leviathan (Which I plan on doing anyway as I didn't have the money to include a Mortis in my pledge, but I'd rather just get the head than a completely new Crusader just for the head.)

Edit: I will need a new Crusader as I love that 'alien' head, but it just wouldn't fit with the plans I have for my current Crusader. The other one would, though that won't stop me craving an 'alien' head version too.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars."
