Hahah the khornemower might actually be useful for something if you can make 2 completely different but usable models out of it!

Pure awesome: Just got the Wayland email announcing the knight. Empty box art due to GW policy... followed by awesome pictures of leviathans and links to their product pages ; ) Also with this line "A perfect alternative for the Imperial Knight," and this for the Mortis: "You can take up to six Imperial Knights in a single Primary Detachment making them an army in their own right! Chaos players needn’t miss out either with the Leviathan Mortis"

Link to online version.

Screen grabbed for posterity... AWSOME...lolz

The funniest bit has to be that headliner image

Can't show GW ones for legal shenanigans, so they put yours there instead.

Hopefully this gets you some good publicity Mark. Wonder if there will be people who get confused and think these are GW kits.

If only the GW kits were anywhere near as good-looking as those Leviathans! The only head I like is the skull helm version. The green-eyed skull without the helm looks a little too Necron to me, and whilst the other 2 are perfectly good enough for WH40K, I still wouldn't like to use them. So glad I've got my Leviathan, and plan on getting a Mortis this year.

Still, GW policy is forcing them to kick themselves again, which is no bad thing in my book. Sooner or later they'll relaise they're only hurting themselves, and maybe they'll stop doing it. Or possibly they are run by a bunch of masochistic zeolots who enjoy that sort of thing. (Hold on, does that describe the Sisters of Battle?)

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." Ha, that Wayland banner is fantastic.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I'd just like to add that the Leviathan Crusader I bought and built last week was an absolutely stunning kit to work with, everything went together perfectly and the thought behind it was obvious. It's the best kit I've had the pleasure to put together in a long time, so to Mark and Dreamforge for producing such an awesome model.

The sale wasn't as deep for non-leviathans though, and even the Mortis discount wasn't as deep as the crusaders. Not being picky, just mentioning.

Still rofling in my jocks at Wayland. <3 I hope Mark flies to England to go on BoW once the full Eisenkern line is finished. Or deputises Warren at the very least.

Oh yeah. This would be the perfect time for BoW to do a nice review on the Leviathan and Mortis. Mark - get WGF to express a pair of models out to them ASAP!

The 15 mm Levi is half the cost of a full size.
Can we expect that pricing scheme to continue for the Mortis and other 15 mm accessories?

I like this idea.

Don't they have a thing called "What's in the box?" where they review kits coming out?

Welp, that sale broke me. I simply had no choice but to buy a leviathan and a mortis.
I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with them but I am sure I'll enjoy building them and painting them if nothing else.

OK, now we need BoW to bump that review. Or maybe get them a Mortis so they unbox that one and also re-mention the Levi...

Oh GOD.

I'm someone who likes building things more than painting or gaming. I always loved lego and stuff like that and the biggest draw to the hobby for me was putting things together. That unboxing there, that is a wet dream for me.

Watching these videos makes me wonder if GW actually released the Knight in an attempt to save face and "put Mark in his place". Seeing all the glowing reviews the Leviathan got had to be at least a bit worrying for GW. I know not many people talk about the Stormtroopers but they too can put GW to shame.

So Mark, now that I've brown nosed a bit, any chance of some Black Widow pics?

So with the knight rules for 40k, I have decided to put my Leviathan together finally. To the people who have already put theirs together, I ask;

WHAT GLUE IS BEST TO USE?

The gw plactic glue doesn't seem to make a good bond, so I am looking for alternatives. Preferable something available at a retail store, but whatever works.
While I realize this most likely has been covered before, I didn't feel like re-reading the almost 100 pages of posts.

I used uhu plast, but any (decent, so not GW - that one is known for being horrible) should work.
Then again, GW glue shouldn't work less or worse on DFG levi's than on some GW sprue, so it might just be the bigger model you're struggling with?

Do people plan on using the Dreamforge models as proxy for Imperial Knight? My impression was that the small Levithan was 4.5", and the big one 8", with the GW Imperial Knight comming in at around 6" making the dreameforge models more or less useless.

The 28mm Levithan is 8.5" tall posed straight up. However, there's nothing to say it must be built that way either as everything is posable. You can build one kneeling, hunched over, etc. and shorten it dramatically without causing too much trouble as there's not the huge static assemblies that limit you in other models. How successful people will be is going to be interesting to see, but I don't see where that's going to be a major issue. The 15mm elevated will be another interesting option to see.

In regards to glue I used Testor's plastic glue in the red tube. It's pretty easy to lay hands on and does the job well overall, though I did have one bond fail on me. Have to figure out a way to re-attach a shoulder now.

As a separate peeve, why does everyone insist the GW Knight has "medieval gothic" styling and the Leviathan doesn't? The Teutonic Order from which the Crusader's styling comes from is spot-on for that style, to the point that the Grey Knights share it in GW's "gothic" style. I understand not having all the bits and bobs and skulls like GW does (which on a model of this size is pretty easy to just add on), but I've now seen multiple people say this and I'm just curious which group is overlooking something about history...

Do people? I may not have been paying attention, but I thought it was more "the knight is ornate and perhaps overly detailed, the leviathan is not". I haven't seen much if any reference to one being more medieval/gothic than the other.

It's amusing seeing the bile some people spew at thought of using DFG minis in 40k, they seem seriously angry. I'm glad no one like that is in my area.

Saw it a few times randomly in the Knight thread as a reason to pooh-pooh the Leviathan and then again in Z's GW vs. DFG poll listed above. If anything, the Leviathan is missing the steampunk stylings that GW mixes in with the Gothic.

I agree it's amusing that there are so many people who think in order to like the GW Knight (which I do, honestly...and I do intend to pick one up to support my FLGS a little), they must HATE the Leviathan. Both have their merits, both have their flaws. I suspect that I will find the Leviathan to be the superior kit in my collection, but that doesn't mean I'll be calling the GW one trash just because I think the Leviathans are cooler.

As I mentioned over in the Knight thread, the Mortis and Crusader go great with my vanilla Marines (who have crossed scythes as their Chapter icon) and Grey Knights, but the GW Knight will look much better with my Guard where I have a lot of GW armor and so the visual motifs align better.
