Whats in the upgrade that makes it $60? is it everything? All cards and the book?

So, I've not used Kickstarter much, I just want to be sure before I decide anything; if the Kickstarter is running until the 7th January, does that mean I'll be able to wait til after Christmas, and pledge for the core game then? Trying to decide whether to see if my dad will pledge it for me for Christmas or if I can just ask for money and do it myself after Christmas.

Also, the core game is the same core game as previously right, apart from updates? It's only $150 cheaper because it's a Kickstarter, not because anythungs missing?

Yes, you can wait until the last minute and pledge. Although there are discounted "Black Friday" levels that he's adding today that won't be available later so you might consider pledging now and cancelling assuming you have the willpower required.

That's correct. What you are not getting is all the free add-on stuff that came with the first kickstarter. You'll have to wait and see if the add-ons are worth it this time as well.

2020 is only for extra stuff that gets unlocked. The core game is due next summer.

I went for the $200 core game in the end. I didn't realise you could change the pledge whenever and that you only paid at the end so this way I definitely have the core game and I can increase it or add stuff on if the gamblers thing turns out being really good or there's expansions I want and based on how much money I get for Christmas.

The $770 odd one with all the expansions was tempting too...

I put in for the gamblers pack because it's a no lose pledge. Either it ends up worth more than $777 or it doesn't and I drop down to the box + update level at the end. At least by locking it in now I still have a choice.

Who knows. Poot has a reputation of perfectionism, "worth", and, imo, integrity (not to mention "delays"). I'm sure if it's not "worth" the money, backers will pull out at the last minute.

Woot! Somebody pulled out of a Black Friday (early bird) bid and I managed to snag it.

Usually I have to play the kickstarter mini-game in the last ten minutes to do that.

well I dragged myself awake at 4.50 am in order to get in early and managed to snag the $185 pledge

(if only I could have got the gamblers $777 but it's just not possible with our new 'magic' exchange rate)

I tremble with anticipation to see what the gamblers chest is going to reveal for it's $100 cost but I'm sure it will be good (and late...)

So, gold smoke Knight is one of my favourite models ever, and I missed out on the resin one. It's one of the things that got me interested in the game in the first place. And they've just added it to the core game, which I've pledged for. I'm so excited.

I made that mistake earlier the $777 is upgrade only the $927 includes the core boxed game that's what the extra $150 pays for.

He didn't. The Second Face one includes a full copy of the core game, not the upgrade pack; hence the big price jump.

I'm in the same boat in that I logged in just in time to see the last of the 777 level vanish in a cloud of mysteriously gold smoke. I'm currently sitting on a 2nd Face and trying to what to do as I really don't need the full box, just the upgrade bits :/

The Gambler pledge isn't fully inclusive

...IF we have any crossover projects, they won't be in the Gambler's Pledge. Due to the nature of licesning and respecting other people's IP we have to keep them separate

Edit: Ok, Im being dumb the gold knight IS the new final boss? I thought it was gonna be the thing that was previewed at the end of the kickstarter video...

We don't have any info on what that thing at the end of the video is other than speculation that's it's an expansion.

As far as I'm aware, at a minimum the upgrade pack is a new version of the main rulebook that includes the extended years and errata. You also get any erratta'd cards, the Gold knight and all of the gold knight cards.

I don't think it invalidates *all* of the original core cards, it is just fixing typos and clarifying some of the cards and settlements. Some of these are available as free downloads from the KD website already, though the jump up to .5 may include even more.

Yeah, the more I think about it, I'll probably stick to this level as I'm paranoid about spilling something on the board and cards anyway and can sell off (or convert) the excess figures. My first ever tax rebate just about covers the cost of this anyway... this is what it is for, right?

First day? The campaign isn't even 8 hours old yet! It funded the initial goal of $100,000 in 180 *seconds* and was up at 2 Million in an hour. It has positively slowed to a crawl with only 20,000 in the last 45 minutes

Honestly it's probably the best board game i've played. It just feels like that board game that everyone has been trying to make for a long time but no one has succeeded until now. It's like Dark souls and dnd all rolled into one glorious package
