Loving the lightning effect on Stg. Pepper!

1. Go to FLGS on a 40K game night.
2. Announce to no one in particular "I have over 10,000 points of Space Marines".
3. Sit back and watch as some 30-ish Neckbeard who still lives with his parents not only disputes your claim, but goes on to describe his 30,000 points of Blood Angels and how he has been playing since Rogue Trader days... And yet you will have never seen him either play 40K or that army.
4. From here, you have several options. Continue the conversation, or just end it. Either way, I guarantee you will waste 1+ hour of your life talking to this guy. Have fun!

Nicely done. Love it when folks get the fluff of Salamanders bare faces right, ie glowy eyes and sooty face instead of just black guy. No offense intended.

Very nice work there dude. For decals, I use white vinegar to apply them, seems to work fine. (I read it somewhere that decal setting solutions are similar to vinegar...)

Got some Salamanders done, But my camera decided to call it. so I had to use the phone. Should have used a light box but ah well.

First off 2nd company 2nd squad: (special weapons guy is magnetized, and I forgot to give him his flamer)

Then: Vulkan He'stan ( not completely happy with the cape.)

And bloddy hell do I hate finecast resin, It has been a complete nightmare. I kept finding small bubbles. And as an added bonus the damned Iron halo broke just as I had finished the entire mini.

Well, your Salamanders are a credit to you. Above all other points, I'd like to praise your colour choices - the green is just the right shade and I like the way you've popped black segments in different areas to break it up on the dreadnought and Terminators. All in all, some excellent work!

As a fellow Salamanders player, have to say job well done with all these.

Hope you don't mind, but consider the flaming power sword 'borrowed' for my next power weapon!

Very nice paint job on all of them. As a Salamanders player I am very jealous. Any more pics of any more of your army or is that all you have complete at the moment?

I'm starting to see a real improvement in quality as you post up more of your work, which is great! If you don't mind me chipping in though, there's two things I feel would take your work to the next level:

1. Highlights - You've got your highlights in all the right places, but the effect is slightly lessened by the width of them. I'd suggest tidying up your highlights after you've finished them by going back over the edges with your base colour. This will have the effect of straightening any wonkiness out, and give the impression that it's just the very edge that's picking up light - not the flat bits that usually wouldn't.

2. Shading. I noticed on some of your earlier marines (less so on the Terminators) that there was a slight lack of shading. I think the reason you are unhappy with your Librarian is due to the fact that the highlights fail to 'pop' and the shading isn't deep enough. To that effect, I'd suggest either using a wash on the recesses to add shading, or to 'line-in' your shading with your basecoat. In this case, Caliban Green for the green or Kantor Blue for... well the blue

I hope I haven't been too presumptuous in offering this advice, but I'm always keen to help fellow Salamanders painters (and any other painters for that matter!)
