hey guys ive recently purchased a scibor chaos lord with a badass mace was gonna use him as a termie lord with the black mace im giving him a retinue of termies and im wondering whats the best was to deliver him to the enemies lines Deep striking is always risky i may mishap and wind up dead or miles away plus the exposed turn of shooting. now landraiders are tough durableand an assault vehicle however they have limited transport capacity and are very expensive both cash and points wise the last idea ive had is infiltrating thim with huron
so dakka what do you think ?

Landraiders are expensive because they work! Also, you get them at a discount over your loyalist brothers.

I choose to DS my Terminator squad of 6x
Heavy Flamer, 2 Combi-Flamer, 2x Combi-Melta

I have been lucky in my DS with the mishap table and its worked out well, and they usually last through the shooting to get into melee next turn.

because you can only fire one of the lascannons at a time, unless the heavens part and you happen to be driving straight at your target which is far away.

Lascannons are not the points of a C:CSM landraider.

I use my land raider to get Kharn and 9x berzerkers into CC ASAP, since its an assault vehicle

Mine walk, and always wind up in combat. Then again my entire army (to include oblits) walks in one huge scary blob. I think the thing is what is the rest of your army doing? If the terminators are the only guys hoofing it they will soak all the anti-infantry fire. If your whole army moves in vehicles they need transport. If your whole army walks, they can walk too.

The other question is why exactly are you in a rush to reach combat? They are resilient and have guns. Let them get a few shots in and earn some of that cost back. They aren't the best cc unit, so don't treat them like thunderhammer/storm shield terminators.

to me the termies are a delivery system for the lord the rest of my army are noise marines with lots of blastmasters thats why im not slogging them as they will just be shot to pieces

If you put them on foot you can infiltrate them or put them next to 6 units of las and autocannon havocs. Combat will come to you.

''Best way to get them into combat?'' Throw them at your opponent!

I don't like CSM Terminators at all. Sure they are cheap but they are pretty rubbish at all three of the games phases.

Movement - SLOW, Derp strike and very expensive transport with guns, even though it sucks in a shooty role.
Shooting - Combie Weapons FTL 5 points for a TL bolter with a one shot Plasma/metla/flamer. 25 pts for the Reaper and only 1 per 5 man unit. Not very scary
Assault - Come Standard with Power Weapons, so either Axe or Sword for free! Chainfist is overpriced though the Lighting claw is cheap. 2 attack base is lame. Suicide Chaos Champion rule is a hindrance most of the time and it doesn't get an extra attack.

Terminators get better with marks, though your racking up the points. you can ruin many peoples day by being either I5, T5, 4 attacks on the change, ++4. Icons are again good but very costly.

With CSM Terminators your playing a lot for that +2 save, it doesn't do anything else that great. HQ's can make this unit better most have better units to work with. (Bikes, Spawn, Obliterators, Raptors, Cultist, Cult Troops)

Land Raiders or Deep striking is it.

Starting them on foot is a fast way to watch a squad get shot to bits.

and then your lord doesnt have a champion so he MUST accept challenges.

I use my termies in a land raider as a distraction - my opponent is lascannon spamming, and this is the one thing that scares him - a suicde termie unit encased in AV 14 going at 12"/turn
