Looks like someone just grabbed the £5k Cardinal level now. So that is both high-level pledges down. Hopefully they stick with 'em. And with that we have blasted past the £85k stretch and are now in spitting distance of £90k (NEW UNITS!).

So we already know Martian Banshees are a shoe-in for Capitol's, but I wonder what everyone else is getting (*crosses fingers* Dragoons and Shock Troopers for me please!).

Yes, Dragoons. I would have no choice but to upgrade my pledge then...

Exactly, this was a good day for pledges and we are still going to hit £90k regardless, just takes a bit longer now.

There seems to be a wave of enthusiasm as we hit the plastic pledge and capitol. I was shocked to see an almost 3K jump between this morning and tonight.

I'll be honest, I was tempted to pull out a while ago. I love Warzone, but I was wondering if this wasn't just one wargame too much. But since this is my first love, and 40K is going bonkers, I think I'll find myself much happier with this than "yet another space marine army."

I noticed the imagen for the Cardinal Level implies the backer could in theory choose to do a Imperial or Mishima unit. Thow I assume this unit would be in resin, so he would have to advoid any units being considered for plastic in the starter box for thows two armies.

Personaly at 90k, I'd love to see bauhaus get thows awesome dudes riding on dinosaurs. A updated/modren look for them would be awesome.

Still not sure what my feelings on Mounted Hussars are. They come from an era in Warzone I didn't like, but as a general concept they are pretty solid. I think a redesign of them with some Polish flare to them would be great. And dino-riders are pretty quintessentially pulp. They may be fun to see down the line. But I think focusing on the "classic" units early might be a good way to go.

The Dragoons and the Blitzers are then next few units that would round out the basic special forces of Bauhaus (and I am really interested in seeing the direction they go with Dragoons since they have had three different iterations throughout the history of Mutant Chronicles). For that matter, Blitzers saw a pretty fundamental re-design between editions as well.

Can't say I wouldn't be unhappy to see the return of the more armoured Blitzers as well as the shoulder-mounted Firefist missile system. The general design of the Blitzers was pretty cool, but their proportions were all wrong in 1st (possibly even more than the old V-Rangers). Their 2nd Edition design is pretty neat though they do kind of look like they are wearing dress uniforms on the field. But the hat and mask combo is pretty classy.

But I think they confirmed that there will be Mounted Hussars one day, so we will see them eventually. And with the right re-design they would have some interesting tactical ramifications for the early Bauhaus play style.

As another 2nd Edition unit I wouldn't mind seeing the return of, Jungle Kommandos were kind of funky. Rotary shotguns (and double-rotary-mega-shotguns-of-everything-slaying), I could see a modernization of them being cool. Though gatling-shotguns may need to go and they could probably stand to have new fluff if Prodos are going back to giving Venus multiple climate zones again (pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease).

At least the mounted hussars were better sculpted than the Mishima dragon cav. Ugh what an uninspired design was that one!

In the old game were Martian Banshees a strong unit? What was Capitols must take troop?

Well, outside of odd character balance foibles in 1st Edition and the close combat weaknesses of 2nd Edition and Ultimate, there never was anything that was a "must take". For the most part you could do well with most forces you created and most things had a foil if you overdid them.

Characters were beaten by elite infantry and elite infantry could be swamped but hordes of cheap infantry.

In general terms you could split most old-school units in to a few different categories:

- Heroes
- Troops (basic infantry types)
- Special Forces (your elite guys)
- Walkers/Monsters/Vehicles (usually fielded in small numbers but with loads of firepower)

In these terms Martian Banshees were one of Capitol's special forces units. They were a mobile unit (they had jump packs) that specialized in getting in to good firing positions and pelting the enemy with fire. They could also work well in close quarters (though they were never really close combat troops).

Most armies had a wide variety of special forces guys, but they tended to be pricey so you only ever fielded a handful for the most part.

Captiol had a pretty wide variety of units. Free Marines were the general arse kickers that were made up of hardened criminals (basically a squad made up of Riddicks and Snake Pliskens), they were so dangerous that their mission gear was kept in timer-locked containers to give their transport time to escape. Sea Lions were kind of like sci-fi Navy SEALs. Desert Scorpions were heavily armed and armoured ground pounders. Sunset Strikers were close combat specialists. Any of them were great choices depending on what you were looking to do. And there were others, of course. But my mind can't remember what the Rangers and Assault Marines were like in play.

And of course, this is a new edition, so tactical advice based on the last three editions (which all had completely different tactical advice mind you) probably wont help much.

The one thing I didnt like about 1st ed was how OP the characters were to everyone else. I think 2nd and UWZ did that right having characters only slightly better than eveyone else. As far as the close combat weakness of the latter editions, I liked it. I dont play sci-fi troopers in space to have them fight each other with swords. An individual here and there is fine, whole units aside from zerg machinators is silly, this isnt 40k. Special forces guys were a few attribute points higher than normal guys, one on one they will win, over time they will usually get taken down by attrition from lesser troops, but on the whole they are more efficient. Characters should be on par with elites statwise with perhaps a slightly higher stat (LD for example) to set them apart(Legion is an exception for this, their characters are essentially daemons afterall).

As far as future units, I want to see Jungle Kommandos and Free Marines next. Be really awesome if they did up a unit of Cybertronic Reavers though, but that would be a departure from their redoing the old line up so I dont see that happening.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs

I want Hussars on Saurians I always liked them for my Venusian scenarios. The previous ones were OK but I think Prodos has improved their rendering skills so well and so quickly anything new they do with them will be better.

Everything I see from them recently I want so I won't be bothered if they do everything else first.

If they resculpt the Mounted Hussars, maybe the riders could be made to look like they are actually riding? Have the lance, fine, it's iconic, but how about reins in their other hand instead of a gun? Otherwise those are some strong inner thigh muscles...

Capitol did have lot of options, but I think the worse offender was the "berets" expansion of Imperial. You could basically buy blood berets and paint them in a slew of other colours and give them another set of special rules.

I think, ultimately, cavalry rules could be made to wait, and focus on infantry for the core release. Jungle Kommandos would look good... the accessory pack for DL has, essentially, a rotary shotgun that could also be given to the Doosmday Proclaimer. Which was an awesome mini.

I loved the berets expansion. Gear wise there wasnt much difference between the commandos except their guns. So having different paint schemes was a great way to have a large number of troop types with only one model type, and they looked cool. I had at my height of playing at least one squad of each type and a couple of my more commonly used ones like the Blood Berets and Gold Lions.

That's a lot of metal! You sir had more patience for this than I. Although I would have kept using metals for skirmishes like Warzone, having that much metal to lug around, and needing most of it for another-game, was out of the question in my case.

My entire Imperial army fit in a double layered pistol case. Included a Hurriane walker, the above squads and specialists, 2 or three of those crazy dudes with jet packs and miraculous non-flying berets, and 2 or three squads of trenchers. Yeah it weighed a good bit but its not like I was roadmarching with it. Pretty much from car into the store and back again heheh. The rest of my collection fit in a second pistol case.

Again, please, look at my country icon. I have no idea how big or small a pistol case is. Yes, I could look it up online, but come on, it's Friday night.

I do all of my commuting by bus, metro or walk (My BMW), so even the large GW carrycase is such a hassle.

Wasnt aware you guys couldnt have pistols up there. Pistol case I had was a waterproof case approx 6 inches tall by maybe 15 inches long and a foot wide. It had double layered foam in it thus two levels of mini's when I had it packed. I still use them to keep my more fragile models. You can drop them down a couple flights of stairs and hit them with a truck and nothing inside will have broken.

Sorry to go off topic, but you can in fact legaly own a pistol in Canada. A pistol license is a separate license from a normal Fire arms license. The way it works if after you get your Firearms license, you then take another course to get the pistol license. It's just most people don't take advantage of this.

You can own any pistol as long as the pistol's barrel isn't to short, or the pistol fires full-auto. Other wise it's a prohibited firearm, due to being to easy to conceal and ect.

As for pistol cases, their is even Canadian based baggage companies that make nice pistol cases.

(Sorry. Just wanted to set some facts straight)

We now have a whole host of new Stretched Goals. Check out:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/513277403/mutant-chronicles-warzone-resurrection

Dr. Diana - Commander. A new hero choice for Cybertronic, the battled wearied and scarred veteran of a hundred Warzones.

As the battle wearied commander studied the warzone via her uplink, her orderly approached. He didn’t wait for acknowledgement before placing the tablet in her hand.

‘What’s this?’ the commander asked, as she rubbed her shaven head.

‘Ma’am, the new batch of Diana neoclones are online.’ he stated blandly.

‘How many?’

‘532, Ma’am.’

‘What happened to the other 68?’ she asked with surprise.

‘42 were lost to cloning issues, 23 to cyborg enhancement failures’

‘And the other three?’

‘They were kept back by Dr. Diana DB72 to assist her’ he explained.

‘This will not do!’ she said angrily.

The commander’s optic blinked as she connected directly to the Cybertronic cloning lab leader. A second or two of static was replaced by a tinny voice in the Commander’s aural implant.

‘Ma’am?’ queried a voice.

‘Dr. Diana, explain to me why you have kept three of my units. Explain it now!’ she commanded.

‘Ma’am, as you may have seen the last batch had a higher than acceptable failure rate, I need assistance to resolve this.’ Dr. Diana DB72 said.

‘In future obtain permission before such a decision is made. However your request is retrospectively authorised’ the commander chastised her junior.

She cut the link before Dr. Diana DB72 could reply. The commander returned her gaze to her orderly.

‘When will the new units be ready?’ she asked.

‘They’re here now, ma’am. Shall I get two sent up as discussed?’

‘Yes!’

After a few minutes two twin-like women entered the command room. The orderly lead them to the commander and instructed them to report. ‘Diana Neoclone XQ27’, stated the first in monotone as the second gave her designation as ‘Diana Neoclone XQ34’. The commander studied them for a while with disdain as she remembered back to her Neoclone days; days that seemed so long ago now. ‘Did I really used to look that beautiful?’ she asked herself, as she touched the long ugly scar on her age-wrinkled face.

‘I am Commander Dr. Diana B01’ the commander said ‘and you will assist me in the field tomorrow. If you survive you will be reassigned as Dr. Diana XQ27 and Dr. Diana XQ34 and become my permanent battlefield assistants. Report here for duty at 43:00 hours. You are dismissed!’.

According to the newly updated list of stretch goals on the KS page, Mishima will get unlocked when they hit £140k. There are some other interesting goals as well.

it looks like 90k goal is a big one, i mean 4 new units? Still, it looks like Capitol will be in disadvantaged position with only 1 additional unit at that point (banshees??) while other factions will get their 3rd extra unit?

Actually I'm thinking that unlocking Mishima would be a bad idea. I think Prodos already has too much on their hands and tho they have been up to the task I fear the typing point is closing and we might end up facing delays and a drop in the quality of the figures if they push it too hard.

I would have been happier if instead of Mishima some kind of Doomtrooper scheme of paired heroes for all factions would have been released as further goals but on the other hand I recognize that those goals would not be as atractive for additional supporters than another faction.

sevsterino: That's why two other stretch goals concern only Capitol, bringing them back to par, if we get that far. Will anyone be surprised if the Capitol vehicle is the Great Gray?

I agree with you, Miguelsan, a mixed doomtrooper scheme would have been great. If they were hard set on rolling out another megacorp, I think Imperial has a bigger following, doesn't it?
