Subject: Mutant Chronicles (R) Warzone Resurrection [Kickstarter is up, now with £85k Stretch Goal!]
Forge World used to be an independent company. GW bought them and turned them in to their in-house resin guys.
Forge World Models was a California based independent company, but was NOT bought by GW. Forge World Models closed down due to lack of sales and possibly some resin allergy issues. A few years after all of the external resin vehicle production licenses (Forge World Models, Epicast, Armorcast) were not renewed, GW started its own resin subcompany called Forge World.
There are no direct links between Forge World Models and GW's Forge World company. In 40K, a Forge World is a planet where tanks and Titans are build, so its an obvious name choice for a company making 40K Titans in resin, whether an independent company or later, a GW subsidiary.

The Forge World Models Black Widow was pretty horrendous, but did follow the illustration pretty well.
Would like to see Prados do a better rendition of the original illustration instead to the pretty boring spider that they have shown.
Its not easy to translate the original illustrations into cool models, but it can be done as Prodos has shown with a lot of their other renders.
So maybe this one is actually quite a bit less Silly!
Excellent!
Oh my goooooood. I didn't knew how the old one looks till now. This is just... I puked a little. What kind of a sick mind comes up with such an abomination?
Btw I'm not sold on the new one, too. But prodos proved that they listen to us and after all that negativ/neutral critic I think he will definetaly do something about it.

The bike is quite cool and unconventional and fits the dieselpunk setting and especially Bauhaus ww I/II-german aesthetics. Id say it's a good call.
But about the spider... I honestly hoped the spider thing was a bad joke... Of all the DL vehicles/huge monsters they choose this... Well, some of the things that died with warzone previously should perhaps have stayed dead...

Earth Dragon wrote: So are folks against a spider-type walker? Or a Walker that looks like a spider?
Don't think folks are against a spider-type walker per se, but not one like the old resin version and something a lot more interesting and more necrotechy than the WIP shown here. To make it work the design will really need to be pushed.
The kitbashed one shown in some of the 2nd edition books might be a good starting point.
Anyone know where (which book) the concept art for the black widow is shown? Was looking for it and could not find it.

Spiderwalkers are best kept small imo otherwise they tend to look more bulky and silly than scary death-machines. Why not make a bio giant, hellhound or an ionclad (and let the spider rest in it's grave)?
But sure the at-43 golgoth (the biiig version) was rather cool now that I think of it, so something along those lines maybe (with more bio-tech-goo)?

OK, it looks better than the old one which I am glad I didnt know existed at the time. But more importantly, Pret Behemoth! Hopefully its as giant size as it used to be!
If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

To be honest I saw the original one years ago and thought it was the weirdest piece of resin I ever saw. After the new Eggdroid I'm hardly impressed by the Black Widow redux but I have high hopes for the Pretorian Behemoth.

The concept is solid but the Forge World execution was horrible. Here is a picture of the Doomtrooper card for the Black Widow. Looks very Dark Legioney to me.

A hellish giant mechanical spider can happen, it needs the correct amount of inorganic surfaces, and organic/ cyber organic surfaces.
I think that since their model is still WiP, Prodos should have a look on this image, which PsychoticStorm posted, to get some inspiration for possible changes in their version of the Black Widow.

Looks like that graph had the intended effect and moved thirty more people in to The Five level. Glad I did that a few days back or I would have been very disappointed upon waking up this morning.

People, please stop with the real spider pictures. Or at least put them in spoilers. I ask that as a personal favour. I know this sounds strange, but those are guaranteed bad dreams now.

1. Thanks for posting pictures of real spiders while I'm doing spring cleaning in the basement.
2. Dark Legion stuff tends to be bio/necro/mechano/magical, so a giant otherwordly spider fused with necrotech could be pretty cool/horrific.
3. The tarantula made me think- they could give it some DL version of the uricating hairs that a tarantula shoots off of it's abdomen when threatened. Maybe poisoned spikes or something for those trying to sneak up behind it. Just a thought.
4. I really dislike spiders, especially when cleaning the basement.
I would like to clarify that this is an image I linked as a reference and not an image I created as a point of reference, Image creator is Falcon and you can see more of his work here DeviantArt Link
On the subject, while the reference artwork may be "missing" a pair of legs, which the artist has transformed to the weapons, so not really missing, it keeps the overall shape and characteristic parts of a spider quite well, for example the abdomen is curved upwards, I believe its a nice illustration that demonstrates how it can be done right.
