Hi folks,

I've just put the finishing touches to the first pose in a planned range of near future trooper figures. On my blog, I've detailed the packs that are planned for launch, which will include a Trooper pack, an NCO pack and a Heavy Weapons pack, with more to follow. As with my Resistance Fighter range, the heads and weapons are separate, allowing for posing of the head and different weapon options to be used.

Below is a cell shaded render of the first Trooper, armed with a Laser Rifle.

This trooper is armed with the optional Assault Rifle, which will be available as an upgrade weapon sprue for those who want a more contemporary look. There will also be a sprue of Combi-Rifles (with integrated UGLs) and a sprue of special weapons.

There's still a lot of work to do so these won't be released for a number of months, but I'm excited to have the first figure pretty much complete and I'd appreciate comments. More info can be found on my Khorosho Productions blog and the Statuesque Miniatures facebook page.

Thanks!

Andrew Rae

Gasmask Greatcoats

Not the most original idea, but they'll be good quality at least

Yup, I know. I've just always wanted an army of greatcoated, gasmasked near-future troopers, ever since I was a wee boy.

Psst, it's a man... Here's a woman in a greatcoat, to be released imminently!

The first trooper might be female if you paint the gasmask pink.

Just kidding, but I really dont see how that greatcoat has a fixed gender.
Though, by fluff I get it if its a typical male oriented fashist opressor trooper.
Whatever. Really nice models though!

How do we even know they're human?

They could be a bunch of ghosts or something!

Your imagination is the limit!

Seriously though, I do plan to do some female troopers once the initial range is all sculpted, though I will try to avoid overtly 'boob armour'. The females will be a bit shorter and slimmer and, of course, the greatcoats will button the other way...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
For a bit more perspective on lady vs man Oppressor, here's a quick comparison of the posed Oppressor and Lila, with a silhouette of an unposed Oppressor. The basic Oppressor figure 6 foot tall unclothed at 1/56 scale, while Lila is around 5'8" unclothed (or approximately 32mm to the top of her helmet in production casting form).

Any chance we can keep all of the Statuesque Miniatures news in a single Statuesque thread?

Thanks...

Ah right, sorry. I just thought to keep things from getting confusing I'd separate the Resistance thread from the Oppressor thread. Is a merge possible?

Sadly, that's one of the few things this awesome forum software can't do!

No worries though - just pick a thread, and update the title via the first post edit when there's something new...

I like it alot! The more modern styled helmet and assault rifle does it for me (not yet another space German). Are these going to be metals? Do you have any idea on price point?

Also, love the female kapitan.

Thanks, James. They will be metal figures. I hope to match if not better the price per figure of the Resistance Fighters though I'll have to see exactly how much they cost to produce to see if that's viable. Like all the figures in the Statuesque range, I'll do quantity discounts so that the price decreases per pack the more packs you buy. I've also designed the range in such a way that it's easy to purchase a squad of 10 figures with 2 NCOs, 6 troopers and a heavy weapons team. I'd like to offer a squad deal if possible.

I'm doing this range because I really want to build an army of them, so I'd like everyone else to be able to afford to do so too! I won't be able to compete with plastic or 'restic' prices but I think the price will be very good for the quality of the metal figures.
