recently made some purchases from Feebey, getting back into the game after a long.... long time.

Combined with the several other Oriental fantasy adventures types of games out there, this one is a old school staple with staying power.

You can upgrade your armies, use the cards, and combine the miniatures in use with the RPG.

Plugity plug plug....

How do you like this game?

What is your favorite faction?

Anyone have a good place to get some references to paint these guys up?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I never got into Clan War, but saw a demo of it. It looked good, had nice rules and was considering playing it ever so long ago, but AEG or whoever was making the game imploded and discontinued it.

The miniature market is tough to get into, so no one else has tried doing mass fantasy battles.

Another difficult aspect is that everything is just a different version of Japanese Samurai, and maybe some demons, so you have limited market appeal.

Very good miniatures though. I painted up a few and had them on hand for RPGs, but then sold them later.

I loved the setting but never got in the game. I did have a small Scorpion Army though. Love me some Scorpions.

AEG didn't implode, they're very much still around making the L5R card game and RPG, as well as several other game properties. They just discontinued Clan War.

AEG rapidly downsized and practically disappeared off the scene. I'd say that's imploding.

Sure, now they're coming back, but killing off most of their games, being reduced to only RPG supplements, going dark for a few years probably means the company wasn't in that great a shape.

Suffolk, where the Aliens roam.

They maintained a CCG in a very tough market, while other games have crashed and burned. The L5R tournie scene is also quite popular and the number of expansions they have continued to release over the years astounded even me.

Only Magic can claim to be a longer consecutive running CCG game. Jyhad/VTES would have been able to claim 2nd if not for that break the game took.

As to Clan War, I had the starter Box, a few Scorpion figs including Bayushi Kachiko, and Shadet's Legion (a Naga box) and although I never actually got around to playing more than a handful of battles, I like the figs for the time. Sadly they look pretty poor now, well in my mind comparing to more recent figures.

Never got into Clan wars, but the CCG is the best out there. I hate MtG but L5R is just plan awesome.

I Like Mantis and now Spider.
