So on 1st Feb Privateer Press announced a new faction for Warmachine, the Convergence of Crysis.
Allegedly they are basically humans who have become robots and all the jacks are clockwork soldiers.
I have heard that the new faction rules will be:
- The Jacks have no MAT or RAT and instead they use the MAT and RAT of the caster
- Some of he casters have the ability to make any jack an arc node, others make all Jacks have shield guard, etc
- The Jacks (or vectors) van use a focus point and then the nearest Jack can then use that focus
- There is also a Warjack that can repair other jacks
So what are people's thoughts?
I particularly like the warcaster having an even bigger effect on what Jacks do meaning that swapping a caster out actually changes the stats of the Jacks. The exact same Jack could be a ranged monster or a melee beatstick depending on who the caster is.
They will be released in 2013. Hope they look good.

Yeah, this is old news.
Anyway, I think the faction will be quite strong and have good synergy. Even more than Menoth or Skorne does.
Their Jacks however appear slightly on the fragile side, but being hard hitting. Models that have bonuses against non-living targets will be very good against them, and Cryx will still be able to gain Soul tokens.
They appear to have a fairly large trade-off with the casters giving their Mat and Rat to their jacks. You either have average with both, or high of one and low of the other.

Anyone have pics of the new models?
Iron Mother Directrix
Unknown Caster (not Father Lucant as first suspected)
A Heavy Vector (Warjack)
Light Vector
Small based shield wall infantry (not the Recipricators as first suspected, as they are apparently going to be medium based infantry)
Clockwork Angels
Personally, I love the style of the models, the 1930s sci fi/art deco look is pretty awesome. Plus the new game mechanics for the faction look really nice as well, they'll definitely be the clockwork faction. Very stoked for this.
They also announced a whole raft of things at their Templecon keynote speech - a new Level 7 game (Omega Protocol), a new Strategic card game based on warmachine/hordes and that there will be a Rhulic battle engine on the way soon. Altogether, looks like a bumper year for Privateer.

Looking for a club in Brisbane, Australia? Come and enjoy a game and a beer at Pubhammer, our friendly club in a pub at the Junction pub in Annerley (opposite Ace Comics), Sunday nights from 6:30. All brisbanites welcome, don't wait, check out our Club Page on Facebook group for details or to organize a game. We play all sorts of board and war games, so hit us up if you're interested.
Pubhammer is Moving! Starting from the 25th of May we'll be gaming at The Junction pub (AKA The Muddy Farmer), opposite Ace Comics & Games in Annerley! Still Sunday nights from 6:30 in the Function room Come along and play Warmachine, 40k, boardgames or anything else!
It's also interesting to note that they already have faction tokens - take a look at the third picture above, on the left side of that heavy warjack. Looks like a Cyriss-specific symbol on that focus token. I'm guessing this will be a pretty full release later this summer.

Supposedly, they will have a Battlebox, tokens, heavy and light jack plastic kit, a couple units of infantry, and a battle engine upon release.

I might end up buying the model just to have it. Not planning on collecting them at all but a clockwork angel is hard to pass up.
Maybe, it could be a Clockwork Angel Solo or a Warcaster. Of course I don't think we have seen anything but the concept art for the Angels.

With a dash of Ghost in the Shell thrown in for good measure.
