Can you name something that has a profile that is not a model besides the Gun Emplacement to set a precident?

look up the definition of model, the gun emplacement fits the definition.

NO IT DOES NOT fit the definition of a model.

Page 3: "In addition to its characteristics profile, each model will have a unit type, such as Infantry or Cavalry, which we discuss in more depth on page 44."

Gun Emplacements do not have a unit type and you keep avoiding that issue. 'Gun Emplacement' is not a unit type. So again: if a Gun Emplacement is a model, what is its unit type?

Please tell me where the rules say that a model must have a unit type.
They do not. Thanks for playing.

Literally in the post you quoted is where I posted the quote from the rules showing where the rules say that each model will have a unit type.

The Helm Bearer's not a model either. It's a marker. The rules are quite clear that a model has a unit type.

As for the Dark Angel Relic bearers they clearly say:

"The model itself plays no part in the game."

So that completely takes care of any and all rules issues.

And again, if you say that a Gun Emplacement is a model, as defined in the rule but somehow without a unit type, then it must be a unit, because all models are formed into units (pg 3 of the rulebook).

So if the Gun Emplacement is a model and therefore a unit, why can I not move and shoot it on its own?

All models are given permission in the rules to move and shoot.

However, the Relic Bearer says directly that the model does not play a part in the game. Ammo Runts have the same description I think and say if it is too hard to make sure it doesn't impact the game, remove it from play.

The Quad gun does not have any quality that says it is just a marker. Artillery Crew seems to have the same stat line for some reason. If an Artillery Crew and Gun Model fail a Death or Glory against the Vehicle both models are removed. I think it might be safe to assume this would be true if the Gun Emplacement is in use by another unit. Agreement?

At the same time the crush rule that is part of ramming doesn't seem likely to come up often. I am not saying that the Game Designers purposefully put it in with the Quadgun in mind, but by RAW rule standards it seems a legitimate argument. There is nothing to say that the vehicle stops its movement by Gun Emplacements.

Strictly by the rules, no. The gun emplacement is just difficult terrain with extra rules.

Guys, The gun emplacement is Battlefield Debris, it is not a unit, it is terrain.
