Lots of people swear by freezing the model first, then trying to break the bond.

One thing to keep in mind with super glue is that it is very strong when it comes to pulling apart, but it is weaker when twisting. So after freezing try not to pry the parts apart but slowly twist them back and forth.

Somewhere in south-central England.

If a metal model you can use acetone (nail polish remover -- but not the acetone free type).

Acetone will dissolve resin or plastic, though.

The freeze and twist method mentioned above usually works if the model was not originally glued with huge blobs of glue.

If it is plastic or resin, and you can get into the join, you may be better off getting in there with a hobby saw. Better than potential breaks in spots that would be hard to fix.

If you can get a small screwdriver into the join tap it with a hammer. The tensile shock should crack the glue bond. This methos should be even more effective after freezing the thing

Most things that will dissolve CA glue will also dissolve styrene. With the prevalence of plastic models, freeze/thaw cycles and careful mechanical force have become the go-to method. If it seems you won't be able to break the bond without distorting the parts, saw it, but any clean (i.e. not flooded with glue) join should come apart reasonably easily.

I need to remove the weapons mounted on my newly aquired Vulture.
The problem I have with the advice given is it's too brittle of a point to
pry or force much before I risk breaking it. I've noticed Simple Green or
Super Clean have weakened SG bonds when I've soaked various models
for paint removal. I'm trying to find an appropriate container to try it. But
if I have any luck, I'll let you folks know.

I never can get super glue to hold anything plastic together. Usually just slight pressure on the part will pop it loose.

The Vulture I'm working on is all Resin. It's the older FW kit.

Resin soaks up a lot of glue and usually forms a pretty good bond.

With something fragile like that, you may have to get in there with a saw.

Good luck.
